Like a Steinbeck...

When John Steinbeck won his Pulitzer Prize for the Grapes of Wrath, he had an automaker build a "Captain's Cabin" on

the bed of a large pick-up truck.

 

He then travelled cross-country

with his dog "Charley"

in search of America...

 

This young man built his own

410 lb camper, for $3340.

 

It reduced his truck fuel economy

from 20 miles per gallon,

to 16 miles per gallon...

1200 lb.

9 foot ceiling, sleeps 2

(Highway clearance..? 12' ?)

A/C, lighting, sink.

60 mph highway.
