'Shock' national baseball player Oh Jae-won arrested by police on drug use charges

On the 10th, Oh Jae-won was reportedly tested for a simple reagent after being accompanied by a woman who reported that she had "medicated drugs together" to the police station, but returned home after testing negative.

 

Since then, the police have reportedly confirmed additional clues about Oh Jae-won's drug administration and issued an arrest warrant while waiting for the results of a detailed examination.

Oh Jae-won, a former Yatago player, graduated from Kyung Hee University and began his professional career in 2007 after being selected by the Doosan Bears as the 72nd pick in the second round of the 2003 rookie draft.

 

Oh Jae-won, who played as Doosan's one-club man until his retirement at the end of 2022, posted a total of 1,571 KBO league games, batting average of 0.267 (1,152 hits in 4,321 times at bat), 64 homers, 521 RBIs and 289 steals, and an OPS of 0.712. In 2011, he became the king of stolen bases (46 steals) and also tasted three Korean Series championships (2015, 2016, 2019). Notably, 2015 and 2019 led the team as captain, contributing to Doosan's victory.
