Unix started in the Mid-60's on an old PDP-7 ...

 

When it was written in the

new C language, to facilitate

 

porting to the DEC PDP-11,

 

 

AT&T adopted it for platform-independent Code.

 

 

PDP-11 running Adventure...

 

 

Bob Supnik joined DEC in 1977

Five years before the IBM PC...

 

He ported the Colossal Cave ADVENTURE to a

56k memory,

2 floppy drive

PDP-11...
