The arena was empty and yet Matt Jackson was as nervous now as he had been on any show day. He knew part of it was because of the match at tomorrow's show, tagging with his brother and Kota Ibushi against Bandido, Fenix, and a legend like Rey Mysterio was no small feat, but he knew deep down there was so, so much more to all of this. If everything went well tomorrow, the entire face of the wrestling world would change.
And oh, Matt Jackson wanted to change the world so badly.
He let out a deep breath as he leaned forward in the seat he had stepped away to, overlooking the ring that was being set up in the Sears Center. The name of the show, All In, shone on the apron in bright white lettering. The tagline for the show was the biggest independent show in professional wrestling. That was certainly the case. Talent from all over the world, both well-known and up-and-coming would be there. The pressure had been building in his head all week, the stress adding to a massive migraine.
"Thought we'd find you up here," came a voice from the stairs. Matt glanced over to see his brother and their friends, Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes. The other three men settled in to their own seats, Cody on one end and Kenny on the other. Cody's arm draped over the back of Matt's chair and he found himself setting into the other man's touch.
"Tomorrow could change everything," Matt spoke gently, eyes not leaving the ring crew who were working hard.
"Not could," Cody leaned back, "should. We should be changing the business tomorrow. We're gonnna make the wrestling world what it should be."
"I don't care if we change the world," Kenny admitted with a charming grin, "what I care about is that tomorrow? Tomorrow I get to do what I love the most with the people I love the most."
Nick playfully elbowed Kenny in the ribs, rolling his eyes, "You're such a sap, Ken."
"I think he's right," Matt gave a chuckle as he looked over at his friend, "in the end, it's all about what we think. The fact that any of this is possible in the first place is-"
"It's a miracle," Cody let out a sharp breath. Matt couldn't help but notice the way his soft blue eyes glanced upwards, "that's what it is, a miracle."
Matt squeeze Cody's hand in a comforting manner, a silent support for his friend. The four sat in silence, eyes cast out over the arena. Words weren't needed between the four, there was a silent understanding.
No matter what happened tomorrow, no matter how their lives changed, the four would always have each other.
