New York Mayor-Elect
Mamdani
has made a lot of them ...
Doubling the minimum wage
is a crowd-pleaser...
But what REALLY HAPPENS...?
It will take 5 years for the $30 wage
to take effect...
Meanwhile, employment will
reduce, as business struggles to
pay the increased wage.
This is at the same time that
AI humanoid robots are due to enter
the workforce.
$30 dollars per hour is $60,000 dollars per year... for minimum wage positions.
Robots don't get paid.
They don't need healthcare,
or days off.
They have no retirement benefits.
You'll see fewer human workers,
and more robots.
Robotic Warehouse Workers,
Robotic Dock Workers,
Robotic Trucks.
Robotic Waitresses...
Robotic Barristas...
Robotic Chefs.
The wealthy are to be taxed again,
despite the highest tax rates in the country.
South Florida, which has no income
tax, is already receiving Real Estate
Inquiries.
As the Wealthy, and their businesses
move away from NYC ...
What happens to the Tax Base ?
Who's going to pay for the
$30 dollar wages ?
Who's going to pay for the FREE BUSSES ?
Who's going to pay for the
FREE DAYCARE ?
HUH ?
Rent Frozen housing means
NO MAINTENANCE.
NO painting, no drywall,
no plumbing or electrical improvements.
What about those Trades,
and their employment...?
There will likely be reduced
Security, because the wages are so high.
Less Security, more crime.
More crime, higher Insurance rates.
More crime, higher Insurance,
more will move away...
The myriad unique businesses
restaurants, cafes, bars ...
will tend to dry up.
Leaving an empty shell of NYC,
with perhaps a Corporate McDonald's,
or a Corporate Starbucks on every block.
The Copper Thieves will
strip the Statue of Liberty...
City owned rent-free grocery stores
will soon put the smaller independent
grocers out of business.
Then the city owned markets
will raise their prices to offset
the high wages of the workers...
Or to invest in robotic stockboys.
Mr. Mamdani has made too many
promises.
It's a house of cards.
