At midnight, more than 13,000 shells will race to the heavens and explode in a choreographed feat of pyrotechnic mastery along an approximate four-mile stretch from Mandalay Bay to the Stratosphere Tower. Zambelli Fireworks Internationale, which has a 100-year history spanning three generations of manufacturing and exhibiting fireworks shows worldwide, is producing the Las Vegas New Year's Eve extravaganza. The company has produced the world's largest pyro-musical productions, including the City of Chicago's Sesquicentennial; last year's massive, multi-borough, choreographed display in New York; and a New Year's Day show in Pittsburgh executed from four of the city's tallest skyscrapers, the Smithfield bridge and six barges.
