Types of Desktop Virtualization

There are different types of desktop virtualization, including server-based desktop virtualization, hosted desktop virtualization, and client-based desktop virtualization. Server-based desktop virtualization uses a remote server to host multiple virtual desktops, and users can access their virtual desktops through a thin client or a web browser. Hosted desktop virtualization, also known as virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), allows users to access their virtual desktops through a remote server, but the virtual desktops are hosted in a data center. Client-based desktop virtualization, also known as local desktop virtualization, allows users to run virtual desktops on their local devices using a hypervisor.
