roleofmepcontractor.png

An MEP contractor ensures that the project is completed on schedule and that construction on the site follows the planned design, as specified by the consultants and other designers.

The MEP contractor’s role also includes:

- Managing and monitoring health and safety on the job site
- Noting and reporting any issues to the project manager
- Monitoring and stopping installation work if there are any unresolved clashes on the drawings that could also pose a risk to health and safety
- Checking on-site piped system pressure tests, air conditioning duct leakage tests, mechanical systems testing and commissioning, etc.
- Providing advice to project director

It is essential to have an MEP contractor on board. The construction process will be streamlined as a result, producing significant revenues. Majority of construction projects in USA are using BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology in MEP design.
