Eddie and Demona should've left long before they had, but as she sat in the passenger seat of her van with Eddie driving, she knew there was no point in dwelling on the past. There was no going back and changing it, and there was nothing either of them could do about the storm. All she could do was sit there, focus on the music, and hope Eddie was able to control the van in the downpour.

As the van skittered across the road, though, she gripped the seat, the blonde's entire body stiffening as he tried to regain control of the vehicle. She trusted Eddie with her life, yes, but there was nothing predictable about the situation they were in. They were the only ones on the road, which would prevent them from colliding with another vehicle, but that also meant there were no tail lights to follow in the lanes. It was just the two of them, and that was both a blessing and a curse. This was what they had wanted, though, and as Eddie began to dig for his cigarettes, Demona snapped back to attention.

"Here, I'll do it. You drive." Carefully, she pulled his hand away from the center console before moving to dig herself, quickly grabbing the pack of cigarettes and the lighter that had fallen to the bottom. It only took her a moment to pull one out, too, and setting it between her lips, the blonde lit it before she took it back out to slip it between Eddie's own. It wasn't the first time they had done that exact thing while he was driving, but this was the first time there was a massive storm while they were doing it.

" . . . What if we stopped on the side of the road? Just to let the storm pass." There was clear concern in her voice, eyes flashing to the sky with the next crack of thunder. The last thing she wanted was for her van to be involved in a second accident since she had left California, and while Eddie wouldn't be what it was crashing into this time, there was no telling just how bad the trees and guard rail would mess up her vehicle -- let alone the occupants of it.
