GENERAL INFORMATION
Instead of a moonstone or moonpool, this set of clans has a Moonflower, a large blue flower with a supernatural glow that grows in a lush cave behind a small waterfall. Instead of fourtrees, there is The Grotto, a space between all four clans with solid ground and a clear view of the sky. Also, coincidentally, it’s absurdly hard to invade ¾ clan camps and the other one has cats so darn nice that nobody wants to hurt them. Here’s some extra info about my clans for you.
Mossclan – A clan that lives within a picturesque forest, with the most plentiful herbs out of all the territories. They let non-medicine cats enter at will to gather these herbs, as long as a Mossclan warrior accompanies them. They are known for compassion, and have a strong connection to the kinder parts of Starclan. The Grotto was initially a part of their territory before some ancient cats volunteered it as neutral ground because they were just that darn nice. They have keen senses of smell to pick up prey-scent in amidst the many, many plants. The prey here is general forest-type prey, with the addition of large deer being present. Not only are Mossclan cats a bunch of absolute cinnamon rolls, they have the sheer strength to take down an adult deer and drag it back to camp. That’s right, these cats are quite a bit larger than your average clan cat, because why the heck shouldn’t they be. Mossclan territory is often overwhelming for those unused to the sheer number of different scents here, but they try their best to be hospitable to any and all guests. Remember that one clan I said was too nice to be invaded? This is it. A Mossclan cat lost their kits somewhere in the territories once, and after this was mentioned at the gathering, a bunch of people from the other clans started turning the entire place upside down to find them (They’d gotten stuck in a hole they didn’t see in Mistclan territory). A Mossclan medicine cat was accompanying the first cat to discover the Moonflower.
Caveclan – This clan lives in old, winding series of stony tunnels and hollows with next to no light. A small stream flows through the camp, with easy access to fresh water in the confusing territory. No other clan can navigate Caveclan’s tunnels, which supplies an immediate advantage. The darkness has caused Caveclan members to develop incredible sight and hearing, to detect signs of prey. There isn’t much living here, but there are plenty of bats living within the cave systems if you know where to look, and if times get really rough, they have learnt to head to the top of the mountain their tunnels trace through and try to jumpscare goats off a cliff. No, they haven’t considered hawks and eagles and other such birds, because they aren’t the sharpest claws in the clan (Figuratively, literally they do have really strong claws.). Caveclan cats are proud and stubborn, hard to change the minds of once they’ve made a decision and practically minded when it comes to battle. They have a tendency to ignore discomfort and keep going regardless. After all, why complain about being hungry when they could just go eat a bat? They can almost always tell when somebody is approaching their camp due to the bumping into walls and likely calling out for them, and often take the visiting cats around in circles for a while so they won’t be able to remember the way there. They aren’t as spiritual as the other clans, but they are conversely the most bound by the Warrior Code.
Coastclan – A clan situated by the shoreline, their camp dug into a hollow in a cliff that overhangs the sea. Many cats have fallen from here and entered Starclan very quickly. Coastclan cats are known for being strange, but amazing at making plans. They were the first clan, and so far ONLY clan, to form relations with another species, that being the dolphins. (Yes this one is based on Clangen’s beach clans, I love that game go play it if you haven’t already) Coastclan cats have learnt to build traps in the sand, creating pitfalls to trap prey and enemy warriors. This makes them difficult to attack, as the ground itself is working against any would-be attacker. They occasionally catch larger predators in these traps as well, and a couple of times they caught a deer. They respect the tides as under Starclan’s control, and can often predict floods before they happen. If you want information on myths and history, Coastclan is your best bet for finding it. As well as learning the herbs, medicine cats here also learn a series of stories to tell to the other clan members. There are pictures scratched into the walls of the medicine den of these stories. Possibly as a result of discussing these stories so much, Coastclan leaders and medicine cats are often the best at deciphering Starclan visions.
Mistclan – A clan with a very flat territory, streams flowing through it and creating an intricate web of water. The strange part? Aside from the very, very rare instances of a drought, it is entirely covered in a thick layer of fog, obscuring both sight and scent within this land. This has led to Mistclan warriors having incredible senses of hearing, and incredibly sensitive whiskers to detect vibrations through the mist. The landscape is covered in boulders and rocks that small prey animals dart between, and it makes keeping silent very, very difficult for the cats of other clans, who aren’t used to it. Mistclan cats are known for being mostly unemotional, and using the most direct battle tactics they can. They often ambush the patrols of hostile clans when they enter the territory, before darting back into the fog. They practice this move until they can enact it over and over again, the unstable ground working with them to make the enemy lose both balance and nerve, soon turning tail and running. Aside, of course, from Mossclan, who are so dang nice that Mistclan patrols just show up, ask why they’re there, and (since this is what they’re most often there for) take them back to the camp. They also escort them back to the border when they’re done, not out of “We need to make sure they don’t steal our prey”, more like, “These guys are going to get so, so lost. Let’s get ‘em home.”. A Mistclan medicine cat, Swiftsong, was the one to discover the Moonflower, Starclan whispering in her ears and guiding her to it. A Mossclan cat was there too, because he didn’t want her to get lonely while gathering herbs (That’s right, the cinnamon roll goes WAY back to the start).
So…. Yeah! That’s my four clans, Mossclan, Caveclan, Coastclan and Mistclan! You’re free to write whatever stories ya like with them! Add characters, kill characters, ship characters, whatever you like! Yes, Goatleap and Moletear are mates. They haven’t told anyone, but they adopted a litter together and it’s adorable. They are indeed based on Carmen Sandiego, I will not tolerate any El Topo slander. Plenty of angst to be had, since Moletear is an absolute sweetie pie, even by Mossclan standards, and Goatleap… isn’t. I like to imagine that Moletear was originally from Caveclan or Coastclan, and he still likes to dig in his new home. Morningsoar is a character that randomly joined one of my clangen clans as a trans tom, and I fell in love instantly (platonically). He and Beartrot were either kittypets or loners before joining the clans, and clan cats don’t know what transgender is so they just think he smells funny (I’m imagining that warrior cats can smell the AGAB, just cuz in the books they can always tell whether somebody is a she or a tom and I don’t want to imagine them eyeballing eachother’s groins all the time) and Beartrot sure as heck isn’t going to tell them (Honestly enough of a cinnamon roll to be Mossclan). Yes, I know I have nonbinary cats here, but I imagine that going something like this- “Yo guys, y’know how I was a shecat/tomcat before? Heh, nope! I’m beyond ‘she’ and ‘tom’ now, I’m just plain awesome, okay nice chat byeeeeeeee” and the other cats just “Noted. Don’t think noping out of the binary means you can nope out of patrols.”. Heh, I love my weird lil brain. Oh right, I was giving some character tidbits. Duskstar used to be a loner, she brought her sister’s litter with her to Mossclan who pretty much went, “Aw, cute kits! Of course you can join buddy, don’t worry!” and immediately resumed their day. Duskstar is significantly smaller than every single one of her clanmates aside from literal infants (remember, Mossclan cats are tall bois (bois in a gender neutral way here)) but she’s the only one that even considers other cats just being bad people as a possible option. I imagine Trickfoot being a completely unrelated loner who showed up, did a magic trick, and was just like, “I live here now, ‘kay?”. Mossclan being Mossclan, this was fine. He’s also short. I imagine him having a similar skillset to Gen, from Dr Stone, and just manipulating his way out of whatever problem he ends up in. He is a very smart boi, but he does seem to get into trouble a lot. I don’t have many skills on paint documents, but here’s my attempt at a map of the Lost Territories (that’s what I’m calling this sorry bunch, like the Forest and later the Lake). (the map went up a lil for some reason. Sorry for my bad art, I drew it at 2:08 am on a computer + most of Caveclan is inside a hole)
(there's the cat pic i mentioned before in case it died elsewhere) So, uh, already posted this but I realised that the Coastclan camp on the map isn't where I said it was, you're free to use either spot in your own writing, but I'm just going to say it's where I put it on the map. Here's the other links, one's for stuff about me, and the other is the one other entry on Free Allegiances, the main 5 clans! Free Allegiances Project - JustPaste.it (Contents page for the Allegiances), Hiya there! - JustPaste.it (That one's me :]).
