I have read your comments under the article and you are right about "license agreement". Our lawyer consultant gave us this very general template of "license agreement" with intention for covering all possible and impossible use cases in future. But I have doubts about that we will be collecting more data than we are collecting right now.
Right now we are collecting:
1. IP address for geolocation
2. Online status
3. Session status
4. Installations/Uninstallations
All with intent to improve our service. All this data stays on our servers with no permission to give it away to third parties and this rule is lifetime permanent. I'm the one who bring this rule.
I also saw some kind of frustration in comments, from one of your readers, that he unable to completely shutdown "SO Viewer". This is because "SO Viewer" fights for its robustness and reliability work on remote machines. No one wants to lose their ability to connect to remote machine, especially when you are far away from home. But I think, we will add total permanent shutdown feature in upcoming soon update.
But right now I can give little manual with instructions about "How to permanently shutdown SO Viewer".
Here we go:
1. Go to tray and find there "SO Viewer" icon, right click on it and click "Quit SO Viewer".
2. Hit Win+R, type and run services.msc.
In opened wind find "SO Viewer" service named "SOVService_<any number>".
Double click on it and click "Stop" button. After that go to "Startup type" option and choose "Manual" and click "OK" button.
The last one will prevent "SO Viewer" from starting after machine reboot. But you still will be able to bring "SO Viewer" back by clicking on it shortcut on desktop at any time.
