BACKSTORY

Callie grew up with her older brother and her father, her mother having died in a car accident which caused her to go into early labor. They were tough on her, but she knew she was loved. However, when her father would drink, she would hide in her room on her computer. Eventually she taught herself how to hack into basic servers, and S.H.I.E.L.D. came to her door, offering her an opportunity in their academy. She accepted, and graduated at the top of her class in 2012 with her boyfriend, Darrien. She was quickly placed in the field, staying in vans and hacking into security feeds in order to give the other agents a clear view of who was where and what to expect.

In 2014, Hydra was revealed to be still within S.H.I.E.L.D., and the entire base she was stationed at was put in shut-down mode. Darrien admitted to being Hydra the entire time, though, and Callie, unable to kill him, ran off and went into hiding.

After the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D., she went back to her childhood home. However, the neighbors told her that her father and brother just packed up one day, and no one had seen them since. She began to pick up freelance hacking jobs, breaking into security systems for both sides of the law, hiding from S.H.I.E.L.D., and Darrien and staying as off-the-grid as she could. She gave up looking for her brother and father after a year, though.

FUN FACTS

• Callie keeps her distance from people, but only because she's afraid of being betrayed again.
• Callie picked up smoking after being on the road for about three months.
• The only alcohol Callie drinks is whiskey.
• Her favorite drink is actually water.
• She doesn’t care what people think about her, and won’t even try to talk them out of it. Instead, she just shows them who she really is through speech and actions.
• Callie uses sarcasm to keep people away, believing that everyone will leave one day.
• After leaving S.H.I.E.L.D.,  she broke into an old facility and stole a mini-generator, as well as a laptop and other equipment for her hacking.
• She's a huge fan of the Star Wars and Jurassic Park franchises.
• Callie mainly listens to metalcore and metal music.
• The only phones she uses are burner phones that she discards shortly after using.
• During her time on her own, Callie learned that Darrien was a mutant with the ability to influence others via touch. Despite that, she's very pro-mutant and sees them just as everyone else.
