Travel to bhutan from USA

Traveling from the USA to Bhutan involves several steps, including obtaining the necessary documents and planning your trip. Please note that travel information can change, so it's important to verify the latest requirements before you embark on your journey. As of my last update in September 2021, here's a general outline of the process:

Passport and Visa:

Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date.
U.S. citizens require a visa to enter Bhutan. You cannot apply for a Bhutanese visa on your own; you must book your travel through a Bhutanese tour operator. They will process your visa as part of the tour package.
Choose a Tour Operator:

Bhutan has a policy of "High Value, Low Impact Tourism," which means all visitors must travel on an all-inclusive guided tour organized by a licensed Bhutanese tour operator. The tour cost covers your accommodation, meals, transportation, and guide services.
Book your Tour:

Research and select a Bhutanese tour operator that suits your preferences and interests.
Work with the chosen operator to customize your itinerary and arrange the details of your trip.
Obtain a Visa Clearance:

After you finalize your travel plans with the tour operator, they will apply for a visa clearance on your behalf from the Tourism Council of Bhutan.
Receive Visa Approval and Pay Fees:

Once your visa clearance is approved, you will receive a visa approval letter and a unique reference number.
Pay the Bhutanese government's "Minimum Daily Package" fee through the tour operator. This fee covers accommodation, meals, transportation, guide services, and a sustainable tourism fee.
Book Flights:

The tour operator will inform you about the arrival and departure dates, and you can then book your international flights accordingly. The most common entry point is Paro International Airport.
Travel Insurance:

It's strongly recommended to have comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical expenses, trip cancellations, and other unforeseen events.
Prepare for the Trip:

Familiarize yourself with Bhutanese culture, customs, and etiquette.
Pack appropriate clothing and gear, as the climate and terrain can vary.
Double-check your documents, including your visa approval letter, passport, and any other required paperwork.
Travel to Bhutan:

Arrive at the Paro International Airport, where you'll be welcomed by your tour guide.
Begin your guided tour of Bhutan, exploring the country's unique culture, landscapes, and attractions.
Keep in mind that Bhutan's travel policies can change, and it's important to verify the most up-to-date information before you make any arrangements. Contact the Bhutanese embassy or consulate in the USA and work closely with your chosen tour operator to ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey.
