BMM Testlabs, a game testing lab and technology consulting firm, has announced "official certification" to test and certify products to comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).
"This certification highlights BMM Testlab's commitment to maintaining the highest level of security and compliance within the gaming industry," the company said in a press release on Wednesday.
BMM said it is currently a payment card industry accreditation lab that has been approved by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Commission to "conduct a security assessment" to "secure payments and data globally."
The announcement quoted Julien Pottiez, vice president of security services at BMM Testlabs, as saying the company "recognized the importance of maintaining the highest level of security and compliance."
"The acquisition of certification to conduct audits and testing of PCI-DSS demonstrates our continued commitment to delivering unparalleled testing services that meet the evolving needs of our customers," the executive added.
PCI-DSS is described as a set of security standards "designed to ensure that any company that accepts, processes, stores or transmits credit card information remains secure."
"PCI-DSS compliance is particularly important for iGaming operators and suppliers, point-of-sale systems and retailers, and any organization that processes payments to protect the integrity of transactions and consumers' financial data," BMM said.
The company said PCI-DSS-related services include "compliance evaluation, penetration testing, audit and iGaming regulatory certification."
