The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has released an advisory on the time limit for reporting Goods and Services Tax (GST) invoices on the Invoice Registration Portal (IRP). The advisory stated that the government has imposed a time limit on reporting old invoices on the e-invoice IRP portals for taxpayers with Annual Aggregate Turnover (AATO) greater than or equal to INR 100 crores.
To ensure timely compliance, taxpayers falling under this category will not be allowed to report invoices older than seven days from the date of reporting. However, it should be noted that this restriction will only apply to the document-type invoice, and there will be no time limit for reporting debit/credit notes.
