The top three cities with the highest concentration of pharmacies are Los Angeles with 3,684 locations, San Francisco with 1,007, and San Diego with 940. The average age of pharmacies in California is six years.
Pharmacies in the state are increasingly building a digital presence. Currently, 476 have LinkedIn profiles, 2,134 maintain Facebook Pages, 1,670 are active on Instagram, 1,584 have X (formerly Twitter) accounts, 62 are on TikTok, and 1,377 run YouTube channels. Additionally, 6,019 pharmacies have their own websites, while the remaining 6,557 do not.
