Causes of knee pain

In order to ensure the healing of any kind of injury is not subject to hurdles, it is important to determine what could have caused it.

Of the majority of times that one experiences knee pain, more often than not it turns out to be due to certain knee conditions or also an injury that one might have sustained. Of all these pains, the inner knee pain is quite common. The inner knee is basically the area of the knee that is the closest to the other knee. Another word for this area is the medial knee. Once the pain is identified, the pain management specialist, would probably tell you that the pain could be because of a cartilage deterioration.

However, in order to make sure that all the aspects of the causes of knee pain, particular inner knee pain is covered, here are a few causes to rule out.

A Blow to the knee

If your knee has ever been directly hit with blunt force with an object then the chances of that causing knee pain for you is always there. Other than that, our knee also faces an impact when we fall down. This in turn leads to the bruising of the bone in your knees. However, if you are still unsure about it being a contusion there are a few things that might make you understand.

If you start to notice things like bruising on the skin of the knee, stiffness in the knee along with facing issues with bending it, then that in itself indicates a contusion. Other than that, swelling could also be an indicator of a knee contusion that you might be suffering from

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease which is responsible for the breakdown of the cartilages in the body over the course of a few years. Due to the breakdown of these cartilages, the bones start to grind together, causing pain in the joints. If you are still confused, there are a few ways in which you can determine whether the knee pain you are experiencing is due to osteoarthritis or not.

If the pain worsens when you put pressure on your joints, for examples when doing simple activities like climbing up or down the stairs, the chances that you are having osteoarthritis are there. If the disease is not diagnosed early on, it ends up worsening over time and thus leading to more pain.

Overload on Bursae sack

The bursa is a fluid filled sack present in our bodies between the joints. This fluid filled sack is what helps reduce the friction caused between the joints. We know that you are confused as to how the bursa can cause pain since its sole purpose is to reduce it in the first place! However, when the the joints are overused, the chances of the bursa causing pain are high.

Let us take for example the bursae that is located in the knee. When this bursa becomes overused, it ends up producing more fluid to help the joints. However, this in turn leads to swelling on the knees because of which the knee also ends up getting subjected to more pressure. This swelling or inflammation is known as Pes Anserine Bursitis and it could be due to any number of problems including osteoarthritis and even obesity.

These are a few reasons as to why you might be experiencing that knee pain, but the good thing is that when it comes to treating knee pain, a lot of advanced physiotherapy clinics and pain management centers Delhi has happened to be very successful!
