How to Choose the Right Yoga Mat?

First of all, it depends on the kind of yoga you plan to practise. Both Bikram yoga and hot yoga are practised in heated rooms, which aids in promoting detoxification and increasing flexibility. It is a fantastic way to work up a sweat! If you workout in a room that is between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius, you will sweat a lot, so a non-slip, absorbent yoga mat is absolutely necessary. In addition to absorbing sweat and preventing unpleasant odours from developing, a decent yoga mat will help minimise slips and falls during practise.

Yet even if you don't practise hot yoga or Bikram, a nice yoga mat is necessary. Whether you're doing a moderate Hatha yoga flow or an intense Vinyasa yoga session, it offers a supportive and solid surface for you to practise your asanas (yoga poses) on. You can concentrate on your practise without worrying about slipping or sliding around if you have a nice yoga mat.
