Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge
The Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge is the oldest urban wildlife refuge in the United States. It was established in 1936 after an explosion at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal killed 5 people and injured many more; it was later turned into a wildlife refuge in 1973. Today, it's home to over 250 species of birds and other animals — including bison — as well as two lakes that were once used for chemical weapons testing during World War II. If you're looking for something unique to do on your first trip to Denver, consider visiting this amazing refuge!
Meow Wolf Denver | Convergence Station
The Meow Wolf Denver | Convergence Station is an art collective and interactive museum located in the River North neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. It's a place where all the things you love come together and become something new. There are rooms full of puzzles and challenges, strange creatures wandering around, and art galore! If you have never been here before then this should be one of the first places you stop when visiting Denver because it's unlike anything else you will see anywhere else in the world!

Take a food tour of RiNo District. Located in the River North (RiNo) neighborhood just north of downtown, Rino District is the place to go for good food and drinks. The district is home to breweries, distilleries, and restaurants galore. To get a taste of everything Rino has to offer, take an EatDenver food tour. This three-hour guided walking tour showcases some of Denver's best restaurants and bars with tastings along the way (and at each stop). If beer is more your thing, try one of Denver Beer Co.'s tours or visit Great Divide Brewing Co.'s brewery and tap room.
Hike around Red Rocks Park
The Red Rocks Amphitheatre is one of the most iconic concert venues in the country. It's also home to a number of hiking trails and overlooks. The Red Rocks Park isn't just for rock climbers or concertgoers; it's also an excellent place for a day hike. If you're looking for something easy and fun with great views, try out Bear Creek Trail or Lumpy Ridge Trail — both are less than 2 miles long with good elevation gain (about 500 feet each). For something more challenging, try walking around the entire perimeter of Red Rocks park: about 8 miles!
Visit the Denver Botanic Gardens
The Denver Art Museum is located in the heart of downtown and offers visitors an opportunity to view some of the world's most famous pieces of art. If you're looking for something a little different, there are often special exhibits on display that may be worth checking out as well.
