Indian supporters traveled to Australia to see the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

According to Cricket Australia, a record number of Indian supporters attended the most recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The number of Indians purchasing tickets for the India vs. Australia series increased sixfold compared to the previous Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which Australia hosted in 2018–19. More than 6,000 supporters from India purchased tickets, according to Cricket Australia. Those who bought tickets through Australian friends and relatives were also included in this.

The series drew 8,37,879 spectators, the most for any non-Ashes series and the fourth most for any Test series in Australia. According to CA, around 5% of all ticket buyers traveled from abroad to attend the games. At least eight sessions averaged over two million viewers, and 40 sessions averaged over one million viewers, in addition to setting attendance records at venues across the nation.

This Australian cricket summer, India sold more international tickets than the United Kingdom and the United States combined. More than two-thirds of the tickets sold to Indian tourists were for the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, demonstrating how popular it was with Indian supporters.

We are thrilled that the immense interest in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series has made Australia a top cricketing destination for Indian cricket lovers. The fervor of Indian fans contributed to the electrifying ambiance at all stadiums during the summer. Our goal is to improve the fan experience for both domestic and international cricket fans while strengthening our ties with cricket fans worldwide.

The growing number of Indian fans who are travelling this summer underscores how crucial Australian cricket is to helping businesses and governments throughout the country with trade and tourism, according to Joel Morrison, Executive General Manager of Events and Operations at Cricket Australia.
