North Dakota resident Ashley Oswald was visiting friends in Arizona when they decided to celebrate Father’s Day at their favorite Valley casino, Gila River Hotels & Casinos – Vee Quiva Hotel and Casino. While there Oswald hit the jackpot on a Wheel of Fortune slot machine and won $1,090,948.51.
“Vee Quiva has always been my favorite casino,” Oswald said. “It is an incredible experience to win on Father’s Day. My dad would be so excited for me.”
This life-changing jackpot is made sweeter because it was in tribute to her late father, who had a tradition of going to the casino with his daughter. In celebration of Father’s Day Oswald wanted to honor her dad by playing at Vee Quiva.
“There’s no doubt he was celebrating with me,” Oswald said.
Oswald, who lived in north Phoenix for nearly 20 years, left her corporate job as a senior IT systems analyst last year and relocated to North Dakota to be closer to family.
Oswald said she hasn’t made exact plans for the jackpot winnings but knows she wants to purchase a new vehicle. 슬롯
