The World Taekwondo Federation (WT) announced that it will hold the "Taiyuan 2023 WT World Taekwondo Grand Prix 3rd Series" at the Tianxi Sports Center in Taiyuan, China from the 12th.

It is the first time in nine years that the Taekwondo Grand Prix will be held in China since Suzhou in 2014.

This is the third Grand Prix series to be held this year after Rome and Paris, with 251 athletes from 48 countries participating.

Refugee teams and Russian and Belarusian players compete in individual qualifications (AIN).

In Korea, men's 58-kilogram Jang Joon (Korea Gas Corporation) and 80-kilogram Park Woo-hyuk (Samsung S1), as well as 68-kilogram Kwon Do-yoon (Korea Sports University), Lee Sang-ryul (Yongin University), and more than 80-kilogram Kang Sang-hyun and Park Chan-hee (Korea Sports University) will participate.

In the women's division, ace Lee Da-bin (Seoul City Hall) is set to compete in more than 67kg. Lee Da-bin shed hot tears after losing to China's Zhou Zhiqi with a round score of 1-2 (9-82-98-21) in the Asian Games final, and he wants to clean up his disappointment in this tournament.

In addition, a number of athletes, including Kang Mir and Kang Bo-ra (Yeoncheon City Hall), Lee Ah-reum (Goyang City Hall), Lee Han-na (Daejeon Sports High School), and Hong Hyo-rim (Gangwon Sports High School) and Nam Min-seo (Korea Sports University) in the women's 49kg class will participate.

Meanwhile, the Korean team is determined to be one step closer to participating in the Olympics by winning the championship, which can secure up to 60 Olympic ranking points.

After this event, in December, the Grand Prix Final will be held in Manchester, England, where only good athletes will be gathered at three Grand Prix events this year
