IELTS: Nearly all American universities accept the IELTS as a test of English proficiency. In spite of this, most universities do not require it if you can demonstrate that you have sufficient English proficiency.
PTE: PTEs are computer-based tests that are accepted worldwide. It is requested by most English-speaking countries. In some cases, however, you may not need to attempt all of these tests.
TOEFL: There are some universities that do not require TOEFL scores. In most cases, however, PhD aspirants will have to complete one. It all depends on the demands of the university.
ACT: The American College Test (ACT) is a multiple-choice test designed to measure your ability to use critical thinking. To pass, you must score at least 22.
GRE: When applying for Engineering and Master's degrees in the United States, you must take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Some business schools are also accepting this score for MBA programs.
SAT: Some universities, such as Harvard University, accept the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Once again, the test consists of multiple choice questions.
GMAT: The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is required for students wishing to pursue an MBA in the United States. In order to pass the test, a score of 700 is required.
Additionally, there are tests that are subject-specific. Several tests are available for admission to law and medical schools, for example, the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), etc.

- In order to obtain admission, the applicant must submit a completed application form to the university or college of their choice.
- Financial proof - The most recent bank statement (within the past three months). The statement shows that the applicant's expenses for one year are covered by the money converted into USD.
- A financial guarantee must be submitted by the applicant if he or she is participating in a scholarship program.

- Copy of passport
- For students who are already in the United States, additional documents such as a copy of their I-20 and study permit are required.
