NEET PG 2023 Counseling: An Ultimate Guide for Medical Aspirants

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET PG is a National or Pan India Level Examination that is conducted by the NBE or the National Board of Examination every year. The qualified candidates are called for a counseling session which is conducted by MCC or Medical Counseling Committee. The NEET PG Counseling is conducted for seat allotment to give new admissions to the students.

About NEET PG 2023 Counseling

 

Only candidates who meet the NEET PG qualification of the minimum cut-off percentile are eligible to participate in the seat allocation process. There are four counseling rounds held for the seat allotment process: First Round, Second Round, Mop-up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round. NEET PG 2023 Counseling Process

 

NEET PG Counseling is conducted for 50% of the All India Quota and 100% of Deemed/ Central Universities, ESIC, and AFMS seats. MCC will conduct all four NEET PG 2023 counseling for the above seats. 

 

The remaining 50% of AIQ seats will be consulted by state officials. The counseling process starts with online registration and ends with the candidate submitting all documents to the allotted institution to complete their admission procedure.

 

The entire process of NEET PG Counseling 2023 is mentioned below:

 

  1. Register Yourself: Applicants wishing to participate in NEET PG 2023 counseling session must register themselves on the official website of the MCC. New registrations are accepted before each round. However, candidates who have registered once for NEET PG counseling 2023 do not need to re-register for a second time. The steps for registering yourself for the counseling process are mentioned below:
  • Visit the official website of MCC.
  • Click on ‘PG Medical Counseling’.
  • Register yourself by filling in your Email ID and Mobile Number.
  • Make a note of all the login credentials.
  • Login again to fill out the application form.

2. Pay the Registration Fees: To participate in the counseling session, students need to submit their registration fees which have to be paid online via net banking/ credit card/ debit card. There are two components of the registration fees i.e. refundable and non-refundable.

3. Filling of Choices: After completing the registration process, candidates are required to fill in their choices for courses and universities according to their preferences. Make sure to lock your choices or else they will be locked automatically after the deadline. Make sure to check it before submitting it.

4. Seat Allotment: MCC announces its result in the form of the seat allotment list. The result pdf carries the name of the candidate, All India Rank, the course and the university allotted to him/ her, and remarks. The seats will be allotted based on the choice filled by the students and seat availability. Candidates who make it to the list can download their seat allotment letter by logging into their registered account on the official website.

5. Report to the University: Students who will be allocated seats will have to report to the university to verify their documents and confirm their admission there. Make sure to carry all the original documents along with the self-attested copies for your convenience.
