In the Al-Karamah area of the Gaza Strip, the people endure challenging living conditions. Despite these hardships, there are individuals who remain committed to making a difference in their community. One such inspiring figure is a woman who, although unable to have children of her own, possesses an unwavering love for them. Determined to help marginalized children in her neighborhood and provide them with a brighter future, she embarked on a kindergarten project. Today, thanks to a partnership with Penny Appeal USA, her initiative has flourished, positively impacting the lives of nearly 100 children.
Among the many challenges faced by the kindergarten project in Al-Karamah was the lack of access to clean drinking water. In an economically strained environment, the kindergarten owner found it difficult to provide a reliable water source for the children. Recognizing the pressing need for intervention, the Palestine Association for Education & Environmental Protection in collaboration with Penny Appeal USA, PAEEP launched the “Improve Access to Adequate WASH Facilities and Safe Drinking Water in Kindergartens Project.” This project aimed to enhance the water and sanitation facilities in kindergartens, with a specific focus on providing clean drinking water.Their website https://pennyappealusa.org/ keeps you informed about upcoming initiatives and success stories.
Thanks to the generous support from Penny Appeal USA’s donors, the project successfully installed a water tank that adhered to appropriate specifications. The water tank was connected to a series of taps, ensuring safe and easy access to clean drinking water for the children in the kindergarten. Read more
