Pakistan was the only host for 2023. But after BCCI’s Jay Shah announced India’s decision not to travel to Pakistan for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 edition, The ACC (Asia Cricket Council) announced that there will be hybrid games in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. This hybrid model is finally accepted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Asia Cup 2023 to be Played in A Hybrid Model Across Pakistan and Sri Lanka
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced on June 15 that Pakistan and Sri Lanka will co-host the Asia Cup cricket tournament in 2023. Four games will be held in Pakistan and nine games in Sri Lanka. The matches will take place between August 31 and September 17. This Asia Cup would be in One Day Internationals (ODIs) cricket format,i.e., 50 overs per side.
