Studio Theatre
Burlington Performing Arts Centre is a multi-use facility located in the heart of downtown Burlington, Ontario. The main stage features a state-of-the-art fly tower and acoustics that rivals the best in the world, while the Studio Theatre is a flexible "black box" space that's perfect for hosting smaller scale theatre performances. It also serves as a rehearsal and holding area for larger stage productions.
The centre was designed by Diamond and Schmitt Architects Inc., and is one of only a few performing arts centres in the province to be awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold certification. As well as being a premier performance venue, the centre also acts as a community gathering place, a place for conference sessions and corporate events, and a venue for a variety of smaller-scale social gatherings.

Main Theatre
The Main Theatre at the Burlington Arts classes Centre is a multi-purpose theatre with excellent sight lines and world-class acoustics. The facility boasts a 165 seat Community Studio Theatre and 700 seat Main Stage. A six storey fly tower, a lobby and a plaza round out this multi-purpose performing arts complex.
The Centre was designed to meet the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Program's Gold certification, which recognizes performance in five areas of human and environmental health. It is the only performing arts center in Ontario to achieve this distinction. The Centre's acoustics, scalability and sustainability make it a must-see for any event or concert.
The centre is a community hub for cultural, social, business and civic events. With a state-of-the-art lobby, outdoor Plaza, and a 165 seat Community Studio Theatre, the Centre is a perfect venue for a wide range of activities, from conferences to recitals. In 2006, the city of Burlington adopted a vision for increased cultural vibrancy.
Performing arts department
Burlington is home to a thriving performing arts community. The city is home to 60 commercial and community arts groups that provide arts experiences to thousands of people each year. Some of these groups include the Burlington Symphony Orchestra and Burlington Civic Orchestra.
In addition, the city is home to the Burlington Performing Arts Centre. This multi-purpose venue hosts 70 performances a year. It also serves as an educational center and a cultural development organization. Located in downtown Burlington, the venue is LEED Gold certified.
Burlington is also home to the Burlington High School, which offers students a diverse curriculum. The school's theatre program produces two productions a year. These shows are directed by experienced teachers and choreographed by guest artists. Students can choose to participate in Drama classes and Field Study in Technical Theatre.
The Performing Arts Department at Burlington High School is led by Director John Middleton-Cox. He took over the program in 2008 after the retirement of long-time director Susan LaVoie. He worked to make the program more student-oriented and focused on theatre.
