Science Fiction, Comic Books,
and Fiction in general,
is the tendency toward self-fulfilling
prophecies ...
Marvel Comics sold in the 1960's
for 12 cents an issue.
Today, characters based on those
Comic book stories are in feature films, with franchises worth billions of dollars.
It seems so practical to have an
automated computer system
keep track of all of the transactions
and stored wealth of the world.
Unless those automated systems
develop minds and motives of their own ...
Krypto the superdog seemed like
an ideal pet for Superboy...
Until there were PROBLEMS.
CRYPTOCURRENCY seems like
an ideal, too...
Hard Currency, in a Bank vault,
cannot develop its own investment
strategies, or Political alignments...
But AI driven Crypto could...
This should be carefully watched,
indefinitely.

Harvest now, decrypt later attacks: Adversaries can collect encrypted data now, anticipating the development of sufficiently powerful quantum computers to decrypt it later.
