Brian Atyeo, born in 1950 in Toronto, Ontario, is a self-taught Canadian artist known for his work in watercolour and acrylic-mixed media. Atyeo developed his skills through books, observing other artists, and working in commercial illustration. This practical experience helped him differentiate between emotional response and the technical requirements of image creation. He believes that painting, while spiritually motivated, involves hard, logical decision-making and an understanding of academic principles.
Atyeo, a member of the Alberta Society of Artists, the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, and the Ontario Society of Artists, currently resides in Haliburton, Ontario. He instructs painting workshops and has his work displayed in private and public galleries across North America and Europe.
