Hasteco offers properly designed and constructed cartridge heaters with swaged in leads that are capable of both high-temperature and high-watt-density operation. For cartridge heater with swaged-in leads, the connection between the leads and power pins is inside the heater. So that swaged cartridge heaters are ideal for applications in which there is a lot of movement.

Specification
- Use recommended maximum watt density range to avoid excessive watt densities which result in the internal overheating of the heater.
- When heater requirements demand excessive watt densities, contact Hasteco for recommendations. Special heaters can be designed for these applications.
- Thermal expansion and contraction due to cycling shortens heater life. We recommend reducing watt densities by 20% for those heaters subject to frequent cycling.
- Be sure the full heated length is in contact with the metal to avoid burn-out by operating in air. The use of Infrakote thermal paste is recommended.
