When it comes to the preparation of the beef jerky, it isn't that difficult. You need an oven; however, one can also use a food dehydrator. But, first things first. Let us take into consideration the delicious ingredients.

 

Ingredients for the recipe

 

  • You need 3 cups of amber ale
  • Soy sauce (2 cups)
  • Worcestershire sauce (1/2 cup)
  • Cracked black peppercorns (2 tbsp)
  • Coarsely ground black pepper (to sprinkle before drying the meat) (2 tbsp)
  • Trimmed beef top/bottom round (2 pounds, 1 1/2 inch thick)

 

Now, let us consider the directions to prepare the black pepper jerky recipe.

 

  1. Take a large bowl where you can combine the ingredients
  2. Take the ale and combine it with soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Add 2 tbsp of cracked black peppercorns to the mixture
  4. Take the beef and cut it into think slices (1/4 inch each). It can be either with or without the grain
  5. Your marinade is almost ready; now add the beef to it. Make sure to add few slices at a time. Dont overload.
  6. Stir well to coat each slice with the marinade to get the same flavor evenly.
  7. Cover the bowl and put it in the refrigerator. Could you keep it for 6 to 8 hours?
  8. Take the oven and preheat to a temperature of 200 degrees.
  9. Take the large wire rack with sizeable rimmed baking sheets on it.
  10. Take out the beef from the marinade and pat dry it with a paper towel.
  11. Arrange the beef on the racks evenly.
  12. Now sprinkle the coarsely ground black pepper on the beef.
  13. Let the beef bake for 4 to 5 hours. Check whether the jerky is firm and completely dry.
  14. Now, it is time to let it cool down completely.
