The 2023 Jeonnam GT (Grand Touring) Competition, the largest speed festival in Korea, will be held at the International Motor Racecourse in Yeongam, Jeollanam-do, for two days from the 23rd.
Jeonnam GT, the seventh of its kind this year, is a comprehensive speed festival that officially branded the predecessor Korea Motor Sports Festival as a motor sports competition.
More than 150 cars will participate in five top-class events in Korea, including automobile races involving professionals and amateurs.
Jeonnam Naegu, which represents the competition, is an event in which the vehicle that drove the most distances in 120 minutes wins.
After staying in the pit for four minutes to repair the vehicle, such as replacing tires and refueling, you must make two "mandatory pit-ins" to participate in the race.
As it operates as the longest game time among domestic auto events, it is expected that various attractions will occur as unpredictable variables.
Six out of a total of eight rounds of "Super 6000," the top event of the CJ Korea Express Super Race Championship, will be held simultaneously.
Stock Car, a 6,200cc, 460-horsepower race car (machine), has secured many fans in Korea with its explosive speed of up to 300 kilometers per hour. The only opportunity to watch it for free is Jeonnam GT.
The "Sports Bike 400" is a motorcycle event of less than 400cc, which is gaining popularity around the world, and is ranked in the order of driving 14 times fast.
The 'Sports Prototype' runs for 40 minutes at a speed of 3 seconds with a zero-back (0→100km/h acceleration time) dedicated to racing.
Following last year, Nexen Tire's track-only high-performance tire, "Enfera SUR4G," was selected as the official tire at 300 in Naegu, Jeollanam-do, to showcase the best driving performance and durability through a 120-minute race.
On the 24th, 1,000 first-come, first-served visitors will be presented with race car stickers, and a special event of Super Race will also be held to present prizes such as mini cars and eco-bags through various participating events.
"The Jeonnam GT Competition is a place of harmony that everyone with dreams and passion grows together in motorsports," said Lee Sang-yong, an official in charge of corporate cities in Jeollanam-do. "We will raise it as a motorsport competition that stands proudly on the Asian stage."
The 2023 Jeonnam GT is free of charge. You can also participate in the opening ceremony, the "Fit Walk" where you can watch vehicle maintenance, and the "Grid Walk" where you can walk around, watch race vehicles, and meet athletes. The site of the competition will be broadcast in real time through online channels such as YouTube, Facebook, Naver TV, and Kakao TV.
