History

In accordance with the 1828 Royal Charter of Lampeter, the University of Wales Lampeter and Trinity University College Carmarthen were combined to establish the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) on November 18, 2010. Swansea Metropolitan University joined the UWTSD as of August 1st, 2013.

The University's Royal Charter is the third-oldest in England and Wales, behind Oxford and Cambridge. In 2011, HRH The Prince of Wales was appointed as its Royal Patron. They provide clear, measurable benefits for students, businesses, industry, and communities by providing a vocational approach from entry-level to post-doctoral research. It is predicted that the University of Wales would eventually join with UWTSD, further solidifying the organisation.

The university has campuses spread out over Swansea as well as in outlying communities like Lampeter and Carmarthen. The Wales International Academy of Voice, which is based in Cardiff, is patroned by Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, and the institution currently operates a business school in London. UWTSD emphasises applied learning, robust academic disciplines, and a strong commitment to innovation, enterprise, and knowledge transfer as part of its strategic strategy.

This connected university is promoting structural and strategic change with the assistance of business, industry, and enterprise. The University of Wales Trinity Saint David proudly represents Wales and recognises its distinctiveness on the UK and global stages.

The learner experience is at the centre of their mission. Sustainability has been given top priority during the planning phase. The Institute of Sustainable Practice, Innovation, Research, and Entrepreneurship infuses sustainable development into all aspects of their educational programmes, instruction, curriculum, campus, community, and culture (INSPIRE). Their objective is to improve society as well as inspire people and produce reflective graduates and practitioners.
