Among these, 2,056 farms, or 97.63%, are single-owner operations, while the remaining 50 farms (2.37%) are affiliated with larger brands. The top three cities leading in the number of dairy farms are Lucknow with 107, Varanasi with 65, and Gorakhpur with 61.
The average age of dairy farms in the state is 3 years and 6 months. Many dairy farms are strengthening their digital presence across various platforms: 18 have LinkedIn profiles, 52 maintain Facebook pages, 43 are active on Instagram, 27 have X (formerly Twitter) handles, and 35 run YouTube channels. Additionally, 211 dairy farms have their own websites, while 1,896 operate without one.
