Introduction.

Teren Santoro is the last son of the renowned Santoro family—a powerhouse dotted with a fame of ill-repute residing in the northern border of the country. As the head of the crest, Teren is widely known as a submissive pawn who calls to his brothers for all of his pivotal verdicts; weaving none other than the impression of a puppet being under full control of his long-feared siblings. When the curtain descends, Teren acts as the mastermind of every Santoro’s operation; a prodigy whose pride is highly regarded among the members of the family. He serves the front as a brilliant strategist.

In his previous life, Teren was a tyrant—the former master of The Inquisition Axis of Kenettra; the capital city of Estenzia during Giulietta Valenciano’s reign. He was very often acquainted with the term ‘dictator’ who didn’t hesitate to behead his fellow malfetto; the victims of ‘blood-fever’ plague seeing it as a holy act of redemption. He saw himself as the extension of the gods’ hand; for every killing was executed under the name of his religion. Teren’s life came to an anticlimactic end after protecting Adelina Amouteru; the current ruler who held him on a firm leash as the death of the previous empress fell onto his responsibility. Teren experienced rebirth as the result of Death’s leniency, for he was damned to traverse the land in pursuit of a thousand people’s forgiveness for the heavy blasphemy that he had performed as a tyrant.

Appearance.

  • Height: 6"47' (195 cm)
  • Weight: 85 (187 lbs).
  • Blood Type: AB+
  • Features of Prominence: A tattoo of Albert Camus' saying; 'man is the only creature that refuses to be what he is' imprinted on his torso.
  • FC: Dimus Ditrion of The Hidden Muse (present), Yevgeny Vissarionovich Bogdanov of Codename: Anastasia (past).

Many have spoken that if a knight is to be blessed by the pinnacle of Venus’ beauty, Teren shall be the befitting accompaniment to such descriptions. A statue made of flesh and bone; mysterious, but not quite—for his eyes are a shade of deep blue that spark with the divulgence of life. Broad shoulders, accompanied by slender limbs and straight spine make up most points of his attractiveness, if only his face isn’t blessed by unparalleled handsomeness; sharp eyes, narrow nose, and tight jaw that slants downward in prominent angles. His skin; a fairly white complexion, is paired with hair of rich blond—cropped short just above his ears. In his previous life, Teren had been graced with a touch of pale blond hair in the lackluster shade of wheat, and a pair of blue eyes so pale, they were almost white. The latter was a dramatic change resulting from the ‘blood-fever’ plague itself, for he was originally born with orbs as brilliant as sapphires.

Primarily on his back, Teren owns a circuit of unfavorable blights, inflicted by his deranged father’s through multitude of whips. The integrity of his skin has been permanently damaged under violent lashings, clumping on each other to form an unseemly order of wounds that had once sunken deep into his flesh—now sewn close to leave wuthering wrinkles that dole out in lighter shades. Up close, Teren smells like the forest; not of the muddy nuances of its dampened soil, but a blend of subtle aromatics in a woody marine accord.

Personality.

Teren is frequently described as an aloof, pliant son of the Santoro family who follows direct orders from his brothers. During the banquets of crest-holders, he frequently delivers his speech in leniency, appealing men and women alike with a temperament so tender, that none of them realizes that they’ve fallen for a false impression. In conversations (substantially those held within values of nobility), Teren positions himself as a ‘mirror’ who will reflect back people’s expectations on him to be presented in the way he behaves. He consistently charms strangers with his display of gentleness; tweaking an impression of ’having cognac in a lion’s den’—for many might indulge in the pleasure of his talks, while having every guard walled up.

Teren’s true nature is that of a brilliant tactician— cautious, calculating; sly at the edge. He’s a wonder that adds luster to the crest of Santoro, for only a few are aware of the danger that comes with his intelligence. He speaks with a spark of satire; calmness that drips with perilous danger—manipulative at its finest. Teren is a man of promise who will do anything to extract the best results out of his plays, and will admit no mercy to those who have wronged him. It has been shown that Teren experiences difficulties in responding to genuine emotions, for such thing was never performed to him, even as a young boy. As a child, Teren had a fixation of impressing his mother whose hatred for him was always evident— thus becoming the origin of his self-hatred that frequently ends up with lack of self-pity and neglect of one’s well-being. However, it comes clear to him that he does value the lives of those he specifically hold dear, including his second brother; Enzo, his house’s head-butler; Regent, and his personal servant; Annecy—Regent’s sole daughter.

In his previous life, Teren was widely recognized as a dictator; an unforgiving figure of a watchdog who finds himself permanently knelt next to his master; the previous queen of Kenettra; Giulietta Valenciano. He was the leader of Inquisition Axis who held full responsibility for the mass genocide of malfetto across Estenzia. He saw such violence as an act of “redeeming” their soul, for the survivors of blood-fever was a plague to the society. Despite the fact that they’re the very same person who merely underwent a rebirth, Teren has thought of them as separate entities— referring to his ‘past-self’ as the ‘tyrant’ he once was, and thinks of the ugly memories as a stranger’s belonging.

About.

The House of Santoro.

House of Santoro, also referred as ‘The Santoro(s)’ is a noble family resorting in the northern part of the country, where snow falls the heaviest. House of Santoro currently functions under the official jurisdiction of the remaining two sons— Enzo Valenciano and Teren Santoro, with the latest child serving as the face of the family. While the arm-dealing business becomes the main source of the family’s income (let alone Raffaele’s ‘annual paycheck’ that comes in the form of transactions), Enzo runs a small business involving cigar-production; known only to several exclusive clients that have been individually selected. Despite its tremendous reputation, House of Santoro operates in a relatively narrow property built above the dark past of their predecessors. Currently, only two of the members of the main family residing in the mansion— alongside their most trusted head-servants; Regent and Annecy, whose tasks are to maintain the whole construction for years long.

The Banquet of Crest-Holders.

The Banquet of Crest-Holders, frequently abbreviated into ‘The Banquet’ is (once) a confidential society (before a public-media outlet succeeded in confirming its existence) consisting of notable aristocrats who own an enormous influence over the country’s hierarchical system. House of Santoro, being one of its founding family—often referred to as the Syndicate: is one of the elite members that covers the business section of the community. In terms of exterior upbringing, The Banquet is known as an organization of billionaires; whose members thrive from various branches of leading-industries in the world. The exemplar upholds the long-established traditions of each hosting-families, while also adapting a modern approach to industrial matters, such as business and entertainment in the form of conferences and private parties. It’s not an unusual business for the members of the Banquet to commit crimes if they’re willing, in order to find balance within their own peers. A few legitimate sources from inside the hierarchial parties have suggested that their heinous offenses towards customary law are beyond tolerable, yet authorities owns no courage to prosecute them entirely; for their powers are way too huge to be dismissed. Up until now, the complete list of the Banquet’s members are never exposed. Among the known-ones are Santoro, Amouteru, Corrigan, Salvatore (the members of Syndicate), Maresh, and Emery, while the rest of its affiliated members remain classified.

Relationship.

  1. Enzo Valenciano.
  2. Ahava Bat-Emuna.

Ahava Bat-Emuna is Teren's current lover. They first met during a small conversation over a tea in his a garden belonging to the Santoro household, after being tasked to interview him for an article related to the legal side of his familial business. It is believed that Ahava is the woman who has shown him that not all 'love' demands a sacrifice; thus, with every expression of 'love' that she has taught him, comes a change so major in Teren, including in the way he places a worth on his long-numbed emotions.

 Trivia.

  1. Teren smokes Sobranie (Собрание) and Gurkha, alternating in an inconsistent pattern. He dips his cigars in cognac for a stronger kick.
  2. He’s the only one among the Santoro siblings who inherits his father’s features, unlike his two older brothers who own most of their late mother’s.
  3. Teren’s often seen in his black parka, regardless of the weather; according to him, its long sleeves exclude his scars from sight relatively well.
  4. Teren plays piano. His personal servant; Annecy, slipped in lectures during midnight in order to prevent his father from knowing.
  5. Teren was sickly as a child. He once contacted pneumonia and nearly passed from being septic. Even until now, Teren isn't the most radiant among the three siblings in terms of health; for he easily falls ill with trivial ailments.
