A former Roto Quebec employee will now face the consequences of attempting to defraud numerous users of Crown Corporation. This week, it was announced that the perpetrator, Martin Raymond, would be sentenced to a one-year suspended sentence to serve the community after being convicted of fraud, breach of trust and fraud using his former position.

Between February 2020 and March 2020, Mr Raymond abused his position as a Roto Quebec employee, according to a report by Quebec's anti-corruption team, also known as UPAC. He did so by diverting funds from users of Crown Agency's online gaming platform for personal use. But he was caught quickly.

On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, UPAC announced that Mr Raymond was able to steal C$22,000 of user money with his fraudulent scheme while employed by Crown Corporation in the first quarter of 2020. The funds have been raised from about 30 user accounts, and he will now be sentenced to a one-year suspended sentence in the community.

In addition, U-Pack said in a statement that it used Roto Quebec's vigilance and cooperation in its investigation of former employees. Meanwhile, Crown Corporation also issued a statement noting that employment with the Crown Agency was completed less than three months after the perpetrator was first hired in February 2020.

The Crown Company has also successfully utilized various system control mechanisms and on-site verification to catch criminals. Crown noted that it quickly identified irregularities on the platform and immediately contacted Cerette du Quebec to submit the case files. Crown said no users were affected by the fraud scheme.

Just recently, Roto Quebec also released official financial performance figures for the first half of the fiscal year 2022-2023. During the period, Crown Agency reported total revenue of C$1.466 billion and consolidated net income of C$853.3 million. This is an increase of C$382.9 million and C$221.3 million from the same results last year.

For the first half of the fiscal year, Crown's revenue was C$468.3 million, down 5.8% from the same period last fiscal year. Meanwhile, online lottery sales accounted for 12.7 percent of the lottery. It should be noted that this ratio has significantly decreased to 3.4% during the first half of the fiscal year when unprecedented situations occurred.

The agency also made a huge start to the year by announcing and announcing a new series of Voreal instant tickets. The plan came in collaboration with Pollard Banknote, who was a longtime partner in the lottery and congratulated it. The new ticket features images of 30 different animals living in Quebec.
