What if we could give all the animals that we consider to be vermin or pests a purpose instead of just trying to keep them away?
What if we could put rats & squirrels to work for us so they would be helping us maintain our stuff instead of damaging it?
Animal labor you say? It's not fair to force animals to work for you?
What if we made the animals work for us only part time? Say around 20% of the time they normally work on their own doing what they do to survive, and the rest of their time can be spent doing what they would normally do if they didn't work for us?
Still not fair? Why not?
You force humans to give you 20% of their labor to pay for your healthcare, education, security.
How is that fair and animal labor isn't fair?
Many of the people forced to work part time for you didn't agree or want to do so anymore than the non-sapient animals agreed to work for us in the hypothetical animal labor scenario.
