The School District of Manatee County has implemented a clear bag policy for all spectators attending athletic events at schools in the district. The policy went into effect on August 1, 2023.
Under the policy, all bags brought into school sporting events must be clear plastic and no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. A small clutch purse is allowed (which does not need to be clear) but must not be larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches.

Prohibited items under the clear bag policy include:
- Backpacks
- Hard-sided containers
- Coolers
- Large bags
- Any bag that is larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches
- Any bag with a logo that is larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches
Spectators who violate the clear bag policy will be asked to return their bag to their vehicle or dispose of it. There are no exceptions to the policy.
The clear bag policy is in effect for all athletic events at schools in the Manatee County School District, including football games, basketball games, and soccer games. The policy is also in effect for all other events held at school sporting venues, such as concerts and graduation ceremonies.
