Workers held a rally in front of Caesars

Caesars Windsor, one of four casino resorts in the Detroit-Windsor area, have been on strike since April 6. All hotel reservations were canceled, guests were kicked out, and all operations in the casino were shut down after 59 percent of staff voted against Caesar's proposed collective contract. Last week, Unipo 444, a union representing Caesars, said it had finally reached out to them. Although the union said it would not be ready to sit at the negotiating table earlier

Negotiations are due to resume today, but the union is not expecting a quick and easy solution to the disagreement between casinos and workers. UNICEF President James Stewart said from the first day of the strike, Caesars didn't even want to sit at the negotiating table. In the end, employees decided not to return unless their needs were met. The two sides were unable to find common ground for two months while they worked out new terms to discuss the terms of the new casino team's negotiations.

On Wednesday, workers held an extraordinary rally in front of Caesars Windsor with UNICEF banners and strike signs. They collected canned goods for the Center for the Unemployed, a community-based organization that provides emergency food assistance and helps the unemployed educate and find jobs. Striking employees and their representatives all said they were preparing for long talks and were planning another rally with United President Jerry on Sunday with little hope for a quick solution.

Cross-border competitors' record sales
Ontario's largest casino is not operating indefinitely, but competition in the state and south of the border is picking up steam for business. Gateway Casino & Entertainment, which operates several facilities in Ontario, said last week that traffic increased at casinos in Point Edward and Dresden. But because of its traditionally strategic location as Caesars Windsor, it is popular among U.S. casinos and tourists located in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, and one of the U.S. casinos located in front of the U.S. Midwest casinos.

Detroit across the river is home to three large casinos developed 20 years ago in response to the booming gambling market in Ontario. And many experts predict that Caesars Windsor's strike will have a major impact on the Detroit River industry. Last week, the Michigan Game Management Commission announced that three casinos in Detroit grossed $138.6 million. Record numbers say MGM casinos were driven by MGM Hotels and MGCB casinos in Detroit, driven by sales from MGM CAMC casinos.

MGM reported revenue of $58.1 million, up 7.3% year-over-year. For the Motor City Casino Hotel, the YOY, up 9.3%, was even more impressive. For the Motor Casino Hotel, the third facility, the Greentown Casino-Hotel, was slightly down (down 2.3%) from the same period last year, and profits were reported to continue to grow in March. Moreover,  it continued to report strikes at all casinos in Ohio.  온라인카지노사이트
