Uganda is located directly on the equator, with an average elevation of around 1,000 metres, which tempers the heat and makes it a year-round destination. The rainiest months are March-May and October-November, but gorillas can still be found in the mist – though trekking to find them will be more difficult and time-consuming. However, lodging and even gorilla permits can be significantly cheaper at this time. The best time to book Uganda safaris and tours is from June to September, which is the peak season – but Uganda remains blissfully undiscovered by mass tourism, so you won't have to worry about crowds.
