The Scope of Remote Working: Is it Screwing Young Employees?

Over 50% of companies employ at least one remote worker according to a survey by Global Workplace Analytics, an increase from 44% in 2014. This trend is only going to increase as technology becomes more advanced and other types of employee management software have made it easier for employers to keep track of employee time. Some managers fear that having employees who work remotely will reduce their productivity, but research has found that remote workers are actually more productive than those who are cooped up in a building all day.

According to data from Gallup, employees who work remotely are 13% more engaged with their jobs and 24% less likely to leave. Yet some feel that these types of arrangements could hurt young people specifically, since many find themselves working odd hours (including overnight shifts) due to job requirements or extracurricular responsibilities such as sports or clubs.

We will also be offering tips on how young employees can perform better and continue to evolve in their career growth with task management tools and a productivity tracker.
