Very important and basic warnings about the misunderstanding of many people of the Qur’an 5:43-48 are here
These verses talk about some of the People of the Book (Bible) who were living in Medina with the Prophet Mohammd, and they had copies of the Torah and the Gospel that had not been distorted at that time. But these people are stubborn. They did not follow Prophet Mohammd, nor did they follow the laws of the Torah and the Gospel because they were not to their liking. So they came to Prophet Mohammd under the illusion that he would rule between them according to his own opinion and not according to God’s laws, and they hoped that he would rule for them with a ruling according to their desires that contradicted God’s law in the holy books. Therefore, as long as they disbelieved in Prophet Mohammd and claimed to be People of the Book, they were obligated to at least resort to the laws in the Bible, which was not distorted and was in their hands at that time. If they had taken into account everything in the undistorted Bible and applied them correctly, they would have followed Prophet Mohammd, because the original undistorted Bible heralded the coming of the Prophet Mohammd and ordered them to follow him. Therefore, God commanded them to apply the Torah and the Gospel correctly. Some of the People of the Book (Bible) in Medina converted to Islam and followed Mohammd, such as Abd Allah ibn Salam (Wikipedia), who is from the children of Israel. He was a major Jewish rabbi in Medina, and after he converted to Islam, he became one of the companions of Prophet Mohammd and became one of the high profile scholars of Islam, may God be pleased with him. Then God explained in other verses of the Qur’an that there were processes of distortion and alteration of the Bible that had begun to take place. Examples of this include the following verses: Qur’an 2:75, 2:79, 4:46, 5:13, and 5:41. It has been proven by leading Bible scholars, such as Professor Bart Ehrman (Wikipedia and YouTube), that the Bible that exists today is very greatly distorted. It is God’s wisdom that He did not mention, 1400 years ago, the great and decisive argument that says that the fact that Prophet Jesus spoke only one language definitively proves that he is not a god. Perhaps the wisdom behind God not mentioning this argument in the Qur’an and Prophet Mohammd not mentioning this argument at that time, even though it is a decisive argument, is that God knew that distortions of the Bible were taking place on a large scale in the world at that time and in the centuries that followed, and that mentioning that argument might be over the following centuries, distorters added slander to the Bible claiming that Prophet Jesus spoke all languages. Then, now that the distortions have stopped and the Bible scholars and all the churches have agreed that the language of Jesus was Aramaic, and therefore he only had one language, which proves that he was not a god, God has blessed me by enabling me to notice and publish this decisive argument that proves conclusively that Prophet Jesus was not a god in any way.
