PCW Phase Seven: Planet Koozebane

The UIC Pavillion in Chicago was full of fans making noise in the stands. Most of them were talking amongst themselves. People were hurrying to their seats, many of them having already been to other shows but there were a few newcomers that seemed to be excited for their first show. The color scheme had changed and the seats had a different tone to them, a more theatrical scenery had taken over the arena, even the ring apron seemed to have a velvet-like texture to it.

As the lights fully went down the crowd went wild. Some stayed standing and most of them began clapping in time with the music filling the arena.

Red light flooded the ramp and the opening strains of The Phoenix by Fall Out Boy began playing. As soon as the first chorus hit, Louden ran out to the top of the ramp, his suit seeming slightly more pressed than usual and he held his arms out. He ran his way up the ramp, covered in orange and yellow light and jumped up onto the apron, dipping under the middle rope. The announcer held the mic up to his mouth as he ran a circle around the inside of the Ring.

Hello Chicago and Welcome to Phoenix Championship Wrestling here at the UIC Pavillion! It's the start of a brand new month and a whole new kind of show. You may have noticed a few... Changes around you...

He casually pointed at the top of the sound booth, where a puppet of himself waved back at the audience, wild strands of finely brushed hair moving along with him.

Anyway... As always, we have four action-packed matches for all you Flockers and today we have a special word from our owner and head commentator, Mr. Mike Quackenbush!

Louden stood to the side of the ring to allow Mike the floor, so to speak.

Mike Quackenbush walked inside the ring with his own microphone in hand, wearing a grey suit, tie and shiny shoes, pushing up his glasses before speaking.

First of all, thank you very much for all your support. In December, when I took over, we weren't expecting such a warm reception from the fans, and I'm glad you've enjoyed all the work our talent puts into the shows. At the end of the day, it's really all for you guys.

On another note, I'd like to take a second to explain to you about the PCW point system and how it works.

  • In order to get a title shot of any kind, our stars have to win three times in a row.
  • If you've won two matches, you've got two points, if you lose the third, you go back to zero.
  • You do not keep the points you've gained previously.
  • If you get three points, you can use said points to exchange for a shot at a title of your choosing.

At the beginning of the season, the Champions may choose to give anybody on the roster, the option to challenge for their championship. Regardless of points. This match does not affect the challenger's point count.

On another note, PCW's Tag Titles are there for any team who wishes to fight for them, following the same point system.

We truly hope you enjoy our little brand of crazy. And as for the winning theme of the month, you've probably noticed a few changes all around the arena and around the website. Every month something crazy like this will happen, but this is easily the craziest. Thank you for being here, and enjoy the show, everyone!

As soon as Mike left the ring, he stepped back to the center of it, mic still raised.

Thank you, Mike for that enlightenment! Now, I want to hear all of you loud and clear tonight for Planet Koozebane, the first show of our current event!

Now the first matchup of tonight, if you've been keeping track is not the first matchup of these two competitors, who may or may not have a little bad blood between the two of them. Let's hear it!

He slid out of the ring, basking in the applause as he made it back to his spot beside the commentator table.

Darby Allin vs Zack Sabre Jr.

Darby Allin's theme, "Runnin outta places," started playing, and the former skater turned demon walked down the ramp. The crowd was split, but he didn't seem to care at all what the fans in attendance thought about him. He entered the ring, and sat down in the corner, holding on to the bottom rope with both hands, with his back against the turnbuckle post.

The commentating team made mention of their previous encounter at Phase Three: Hard Country, where both men were counted out of the match. The hostilities from back then had lowered, but now there were new reasons to fight, and even though they both seemed a lot calmer, the moment Zack came down the ramp, Darby's smile told a far more sinister story.

The bell rung when they were in the ring, they hooked, and the younger of the two tried to match locks with the Technical Wizard, but failed. His body was so flexible, every move seemed more painful than the last, not only because Sabre was applying more pressure than normal.

Allin's high-flying moves didn't take long to appear when he couldn't compete with the other man's technical ability, but just as he was about to drop from the turnbuckle onto Zack with a double-knee, the technician caught him with a European uppercut and knocked the wind out of his sails, pinning him clean, and still lingering there a moment, speaking to the near-unconscious Darby before leaving the ring.

The crowd was cheering like wild for Zack, but applauded for Darby as the ring crew checked on Allin and helped him to the locker room. Louden made his way back up to into the ring.

What do you think, everyone? Are you ready for another matchup?

He was greeted with a loud, spirited cheer, a couple signs popping up within the crowd.

The next match is set for One Fall! Here we Go!

He ducked back under the ropes and hopped out off the apron, heading back to his perch, eyes trained on the ramp.

Madison Eagles vs Robbie Sallis

Music hit and Madison Eagles went down the ramp accompanied by Mick Moretti and Buddy Murphy, at least they were the ones to come down ringside, but the rest of the Rapscallion's Rebellion stayed near the top of the ramp, ready in case they were needed.

Robbie Sallis came out as confident as his opponent, jumping up and down and decided to make an impact on the people who didn't know him yet. The loud crowd made up for his silence as they cheered him on all the way to the ring.

The Aussies had been victorious during their last encounters, and this one, they intended to be no different than the others. Madison and Robbie locked in at nearly the same height, their strength almost matched blow by blow, but Robbie was stronger. He took Eagles down, he used chokes and wristlocks, triangles and surfboards. The Rapscallion's Rebellion grew impatient on the outside, and when Sallis covered Madison, they almost jumped in, but were held back by Mick Moretti. Madison kicked out at two from that hold, rolled outside to catch her breath and returned with renewed energy to finish the match.

Close to the end, both competitors had fought bravely, but ultimately, Soaring Eagles took the pin, a perfectly executed moonsault that left Robbie down and out for the three count.

The group, even the ones at the top of the stage, came down and congratulated Madison, though they did seem a little displeased they couldn't go in and help, but Mick's immediate recognition of a clean victory seemed to ease any strain within the Aussie group.

Just as the pack was celebrating their victory, Jinny came out to the stage, Tenille separated from the group to meet her halfway up the ramp, and the pair stared at eachother for a moment. Tenille turned around to rejoin her compatriots, and just as she had done it, Jinny grabbed her arm, pulling her in for an acid rainmaker right on the ramp.

The rest of the group joined Tenille to check on her, and Jinny moved to leave. The only reason why Madison didn't catch her was because Buddy stopped her from doing so.

Some fans cheered for Madison but most of them were behind Robbie the entire match and there were several loud boos and a few off comments when Robbie joined the list of competitors taken out by The Rapscallion's Rebellion. There were stirs of confusion and excitement rippling through the fans when Jinny showed up on stage, reacting to the obvious tension between them. They erupted in reaction to the vicious move from Jinny.

Louden had made his return to the ring just before Jinny made her presence known. He stayed to the side, wisely avoiding any sort of attention and spoke only once the Rebellion had assisted their compatriot back to the locker room and Jinny had made her confident exit.

He let out a low whistle and raised the mic again.

It looks like tensions are high here at PCW tonight. Robbie makes the fifth person to fall to this band of out of towners. And I don't know what all of you saw there, but that looked a lot like Jinny throwing down the gauntlet.

The crowd cheered, obviously ready for this to be a match right now.

Now it's time for another one on one competition set for one fall. It's the first meeting of these two opponents in the PCW ring. Your Women's Champion, Taeler Hendrix picked the next match herself and it is for the PCW women's championship title!

The crowd reacted, cheering loudly for the upcoming match well after Louden vacated the ring.

Women's Championship: Taeler Hendrix vs Hania

Hania came in with her usual seductive cadence, walking down the ramp calmly, making her way inside the ring through the third rope, using it to propel herself up and landing on her knees, howling right before removing her wolf-like cloak, setting it on her corner while she waited for her opponent to appear.

Taeler's moves and seductive pace left the crowd speechless, hypnotised almost by the way she seemed to control her body, even as she slid up on the apron and threw her head back, letting her red locks touch the canvas before standing up and getting inside to face her opponent.

The champion's hand-picked opponent didn't disappoint and faced off with the dangerous Hendrix in what could easily be considered one of the best matches the two had offered. The match took nearly thirty minutes of the night, and during the whole thing, the crowd was at the edge of their seats, the cheers were split, and there were thunderous claps to accompany the chants.

Hania relied heavily on her kicks, throwing the champion into the corner, trapping her against the ropes and knocking her down a few times with her crescent axe kick. The match turned around for the champion, and after ducking one of Hania's kicks, she proceeded to take the upper hand, delivering as much punishment as she had received.

During the exchange, the referee was knocked out, and even though The Huntress covered Taeler after the Full Moon, there was nobody to count the pin! She released it and went to try and bring the official back to consciousness, giving Hendrix enough time to crawl to her feet, grinning and making her way slowly to her opponent.

She grabbed her face, gave her the fatal kiss just as the referee was waking up and picked her up for The Kiss Goodnight, pinning her successfully much to the awe of the audience. The referee just managed to get to his feet and raise the winner's hand.

She rolled out of the ring, and left a very angry Hania at the center of it, slamming her hands on the canvas. Taeler smiled and blew a kiss at her, carrying her championship on her shoulder on her way out.

The audience was on fire. They had been screaming for the ref to look and were loudly booing the champion. There were cheers for Hania when she did leave the ring and a lot of hushed talking.

Louden made it back in the ring, leaning on one of the turnbuckles, looking tired from the events of the night so far.

Alright, everyone! We have One More Match for this evening and it is a title match! Your PCW Champion Aleister Black has put the title on the line against one of this month's guest TWA stars. Risky move, am I right?

The fans cheered and Louden backed out of the ring to allow the competition to begin.

World Championship: Aleister Black vs Jack Sexsmith

The lights all went out, giving way to Aleister Black. The dark figure stood from his coffin position with the magical ease he always did and made his way down the ramp and into the ring with the same ominous aura which always surrounded him. He rolled gracefully over the third rope and landed cross-legged in the middle of the ring, landing in front of his opponent with both hands on his knees.

The Divinyls' "I touch myself" started playing and the whole crowd became unhinged, rainbow flags all over the place, hanging from the barricades and waving over heads. Jack Sexsmith walked down the ramp, stripped himself off his jacket and joined the crowd to let himself be hugged and kissed while keeping a watchful eye on his serious opponent. Aleister waited for him at the center of the ring, but Sexsmith took his time, the audience was behind him, and he wouldn't let them down. Once he made it inside the ring, he tossed his shirt at corner and jumped down from the turnbuckle he'd perched himself on, nodding at Black, letting him know game time was over.

From the get-go, the champion tried to assert his dominance over the ring and show his opponent how he didn't care about how big of a part of the crowd stood behind the Pansexual Phenomenon, he wasn't there to gain any favors.

The first half of the match, it was all Aleister, every move perfectly executed, but he didn't manage to capitalize on the resilient Sexsmith. Then the page turned, and the guest star managed to regain his footing and run to the turnbuckle and deliver the Big Double Stompy Move on an unsuspecting Black.

The match went on, and Aleister's moves became more self-aware, more calculated. He wasn't wrestling an ordinary man, he was wrestling an unpredictable force willing to go the distance to prove his worth, and Jack saved his head a couple of times by dodging Aleister's Black Mass. The champion remained calm through it, but he searched deep in his repertoire to find something to bring the challenger down.

Sexsmith set Black up for the LGBDDT, and got only a two-count. The audience was almost on their feet at this point, but just as Jack was getting ready to attack the champion again, he'd gotten back to his feet, and in just a few seconds, Sexsmith was down and out with a kick to the side of the head.

Aleister got out of the ring, still as calm and collected as he'd arrived, and walked up the ramp and out, just turning his head briefly to nod once at his opponent, who got up slowly, but surely after a few minutes, receiving the standing ovation from the Chicago crowd.

Louden pulled himself back onto the apron and raised the mic like he was going to say something, but paused for the audience to cease with their loud cheering. He took the moment to slip back into the ring.

That's your show for the night, Chicago! Thank you as always for joining us here. We'll be back next week, same Bat-Time, same Bat-Channel, on Valentines Day for Phase Eight: Veterinarian's Hospital! See you all then!
