PCW Phase Eleven: Fearful Symmetry
The audience was filling the UIC Pavillion, pushing into their seats and talking loudly. For a moment all the sound died when the lights dimmed, then a roar of cheers took of the arena, nearly drowning out the first notes of The Phoenix by Fall Out Boy.
Louden Noxious slid into view, arms spread out wide basking in the orange and red lights when the second chorus hit. He ran to the ring, entering under the middle rope and turning around in a quick circle in the center of the ring.
Hello again, Chicago!
The music began to die down, the lights settling.
Tonight here at the UIC Pavillion is a night of exciting firsts for PCW! I would tell you all about it but it's probably better that we get right into it. What do you say?!
The crowd's cheers rose in response and Louden raised his hands to indicate it was time to move forward with the show. He rolled out of the ring so the first match could start.
Johnny Gargano vs Jenny Blake
As the sound of clapping rang throughout the arena, this signalled that "Rebel Heart" was beginning. Within moments, Johnny Gargano would appear. The crowd bursting into what can only be described as a chorus of cheers. He'd do a slow turn before raising his hand to his forehead as if he were searching amongst the crowd for something. He'd make his way down to the ring with an excited grin, climbing upwards into the ring, and jumping onto the turnbuckle, a finger being brought up to his ear as if he couldn't hear how loud the crowd was, before hopping down.
"Call Me Maybe" started playing and the crowd started singing along. Jenny came out just as the song hit the chorus. She smiled, danced, waved her arms, twisted and blew kisses to the audience all the way down the ramp. As she got off of it, she went around giving a high five to everybody in the front row. She then cartwheeled over to the ring, hopping up on the apron and doing a backflip to get in. Before dropping into the ring, she climbed the nearest ring post and blew more kisses, holding one hand back while the other is thrust forward, both making peace signs.
Jenny went right for a lockup from the start, they fought while keeping smiles on their faces, they stopped a few times after constant lock exchanges to shake each other's hand rolling their shoulders or wrists after the other one had ended a particularly good sequence.
The high flying moves started somewhere around the six-minute mark, and finally, it was Gargano who took the win after a Hurts Donut, and he waited until his opponent was a bit recovered to help her up, even if she had just turned her two points into zero.
The audience was reacting well to the high energy of the first match of the night, many of them clearly excited for the debuts. Louden entered again, standing in the center of the ring in his suit as always.
It almost sounded like you liked that one.
He teased, then shrugged, moving on to the next match announcement as the crowd cheered again.
What do you say we do another singles match then?
He didn't wait for a reaction before making his way back to commentary, confident in how they would feel about this, to begin with.
Billie Kay vs Robbie Sallis
Robbie Sallis came out as confident as always, jumping up and down. He was met with cheering this time around, people knew him and loved him, and they had his back with signs and with chants. The reception followed him to the ring, and he waited there until his opponent came down the ramp.
The iconic theme of “Femme Fatale” sounds in the arena as a titantron of shattering glass appears on the big screen, the name “Billie Kay” appears as she comes out from backstage onto the stand, Billie quickly spread her arms out and wickedly puts them back together with a little snap, From Sydney, Australia, Billie Kay! The iconic Billie Kay walks down the ramp with her arms spread out, with a grin on her face, looking at the WWE universe, walking down the ramp taking in all the boos and walking with such style like a true queen, her cape delicately drags as she walks down the ramp. Billie Kay walks up the steel steps with such a delicacy, she walks on the side of the ring toward the other side, fancily putting one leg inside the ring and then the other after that her cape is hanging on the rope and she elegantly, slowly walks to the middle of the ring, the robe slowly falls down on the mat, Billie does a quick, half spin and walks toward the front ropes, placing one leg on the bottom rope the other one on top of the middle rope while taking in the boos once more she quickly clips off her cape, Billie gets off the rope with one of her foot still on the bottom rope and she slightly falls back while holding onto the ropes. She gets off the rope and walks around the ring, flipping her hair, waiting for her opponent, as “Femme Fatale” fades away.
Robbie waited the whole time, rolling his eyes even, just hopping from side to side waiting for her. While she was still flipping her hair, he approached fast, waiting for the bell to ring before kicking her midsection, Billie moved away from him, frowning at his boldness, it wasn't a very gentlemanly move to do on a lady, and while he seemed to be calm and just going for the competition, Kay took it as a personal offense, and the match quickly changed its pace into something a bit more on the striking side.
They exchanged punches for a while, Billie capped it with the boyfriend stealer and tried a pinning combination, but Robbie kicked out, rolling away from her and coming back with a crossface. Billie crawled to the ropes, and just as she was about to reach them, he pulled her back, tightening the hold, successfully making her submit to the painful hold.
The Pavillion was full of people chanting, fully engaged in the match. They seemed alive with quick comments being shouted into the ring. Louden pulled himself up to lean against a turnbuckle from the outside after the competitors had left the ring.
What do you say? You want the other half of the show, folks? You know what, I'm just going to let the next match be a surprise, how's that?
He clapped his hands together, the mic base between them and exited the ring.
Rachael Ellering vs Baron Corbin
As his theme song "I bring the darkness" hit, Corbin emerged from the backstage area, nodding his head and moving his body to the beat. And just before the chorus hit he stood in the center of the stage bowing his head swaying side to side with the beat. Once the chorus hit he stood tall spreading his arms as a barrage of mixed boos with cheers came from the crowd. 80% were boo's 20% were cheers. He made his way down the ramp with this intense stare in his eyes, coming around the ring, walking up the steel steps, and climbed in between the ropes.
The opening strands of Shinedown's "Cut the Cord" begins echoing throughout the arena as the fans all begin to stand in anticipation for who's coming out. Finally, when the drums begin to ring out, Rachael Ellering busts through the curtain, screaming for fans to get on their feet. A smile was etched across Rachael's face as she made her way down the ramp, slapping hands with the fans before sliding in the ring. Rachael goes to a corner, and stands on the turnbuckle, staring into the crowd. Hopping off, she waited patiently in the corner for her opponent.
Corbin started the fight just before the bell rang and tried immediately going for the deep six, but Ellering wiggled her way out of it, turning around and jumping to give him a big boot for his trouble, but it barely managed to make him turn his head. The smaller competitor ran towards the ropes and hit him with a big crossbody, but got caught.
Just as he was about to slam her on the mat, however, she scurried her way up to his neck, grabbing one of his arms with her arms and the other with both her legs, pulling him down to attempt a crucifix pin on him, which he rolled out of with fury in his eyes. She looked confident and stretched her legs to wait for him to come at her to use his strength against him. Every time the bigger man tried to use his strength, she took advantage of her size and speed, and just as he was going for the End of days, she spun around him, hooking him up with an armbar in the center of the ring, pulling and tugging at his arm until he was forced to submit.
She got up and jumped, just as the referee handed her, her first point, and Cobin sat down, rolling his shoulder and shaking his head. The situation wasn't ideal, but after a few seconds, and after standing threateningly close to her, he offered his hand with a single nod.
Louden pulled himself back up through the ropes as the other two were leaving the ramp.
That's what we like to see, isn't it Flockers?
He made a clear 'awe' at the sportsmanship that was echoed by the fans, then he moved right on from it.
Okay! That leaves just one match left! Get ready for our Maaaaaaiiin Event!
He slapped the turnbuckle a few times, kicking off the music of the first competitor.
Hania vs Taeler Hendrix
Hania came in with her usual seductive cadence, walking down the ramp calmly, making her way inside the ring through the third rope, using it to propel herself up and landing on her knees, howling right before removing her wolf-like cloak, setting it on her corner while she waited for her opponent to appear.
Taeler's moves and seductive pace left the crowd speechless, hypnotised almost by the way she seemed to control her body, even as she slid up on the apron and threw her head back, letting her red locks touch the canvas before standing up and getting inside to face her opponent.
Hania relied heavily on her kicks, throwing the champion into the corner, trapping her against the ropes and knocking her down a few times with her crescent axe kick. During the match, Hania's behavior seemed to shift, she relied more and more on her technical and high-flying ability, moving faster and with increased accuracy, trying to wear down Hendrix to pin her, but every attempt only reached a two count.
Bringing the redhead to the center of the ring, she used the ropes to catch speed, grabbing her with a tilt-a-whirl headscissor takedown and transition it into the Rings of Saturyne! Hendrix tried desperately to reach the ropes, refusing to give up. She started to fade, and before the referee raised her hand and dropped it for the third time, she seemed to find the strength within her to drag herself the rest of the way to the ropes, holding on to the bottom rope and forcing Hania to break the hold.
The match continued in the same way, Hania's attacks became constant and violent, the pace turned around for the champion, and after ducking one of Hania's kicks, she proceeded to take the upper hand, delivering as much punishment as she had received.
Hendrix, with the last of her energy, grabbed Hania's face and gave her the fatal kiss picking her up for The Kiss Goodnight. She grabbed her by the waist, flipped her effortlessly and piledrove her into the canvas, hooking her leg to secure a pin. She sat there for a few minutes after the bell had rung, her victory was announced through the speakers and the referee raised Hendrix's hand, after which, she wobbled her way to a standing position and observed her opponent.
She took her time to leave the ring, limbs sore, watching the Huntress starting to come to in the middle of the ring, howling and screaming at her from there, threatening her.
As the music faded, Louden climbed back into the ring and paced around it once, letting the cheers, jeers and shouts of the audience calm.
