Phase Eighty-Three: Breaking Dawn

Love, Death, Birth

m1.png

Arisa looks to open the show by celebrating her championship victory. The joshi competitor holds her championship up high to an arena full of cheers before raising the mic to her lips. “Everything hurts really, really bad...but I did it! I won my first singles title in PCW and I did it for myself and for my partner, Jenny. When she comes back, she can win the Future Phoenix title and we will both have belts again!”

The fans cheer her on again as she puts the championship on her shoulder. “But don’t be fooled. I am going to be a fighting champion and be ready for all challengers. If you want a shot against Arisa Hoshiki—the shining star—then step up! I am happy to defend my championship anytime, anywhere, and against anybody.” Just then, Natalya makes her appearance with Frankie by her side. The former tag team champions exchange a glance before Natalya speaks.

“It’s funny you mention challengers because now that the tag team championships are no longer up for grabs? Well...we got seven points each and unsure of what to do with them.” Frankie takes the mic next and smiles.
“Which means your first two challengers are standing right here, Arisa. Between the two of us? I think there’s going to be a new champion crowned. First it’s me, then it’s my partner and mentor, Natalya...but I doubt you get past me honestly.” The fans are mixed between boos and cheers as Natalya and Frankie both make their challenge to the new champion.

“That’s fine. I could take you both on in just one match or separately. Either way, I’m going to retain my title and walk out still as the Heart of Phoenix Champion!” She raises her belt high in the air again and the fans cheer loudly for her.

m2.png

The bell rings and Hania immediately Spears Ivelisse to the mat. The two throw punches on the mat while Bliss and Taeler up in the corner. Alexa kicks Hendrix back and uses the second turnbuckle for a dropkick to the chest. Taeler rolls into the ropes and Bliss races in with another dropkick to send her to the floor. Alexa rolls out and tries to follow up, but Taeler trips her up and slams the face into the steel steps. She relaxes on the outside as Hania connects with a codebreaker to send Ivelisse into the corner. Hendrix slides in for the quick roll-up, but Hania kicks out at two.

Both women stand and Taeler gets the scorpion kick to the jaw for another cover. Hania still kicks out at two. Taeler has her up by the hair and tries for the piledriver, but Hania fights her way out and gets the roll-up for a two count. As they stand, Hania gets the wheelbarrow armdrag, sending Hendrix across the ring. Ivelisse drags Taeler out and slams her into the barricade before sliding back into the ring to take on the Howling Huntress. Velez ducks from the clothesline and catches Hania with a float over DDT. She then rebounds off the ropes and connects with the running knee as Hania sits up for the pin. One...two—Bliss breaks it up.

Alexa has Ivelisse by the hair and grabs the neck before slamming her down with the STO. Bliss then focuses on Hania as she crawls into the ropes. She goes for the dropkick, but Hania leaps and double stomps Alexa after she crashes into the corner. Hania climbs the corner as Ivelisse stands and gets the crossbody. Ivelisse rolls through and lifts her up on the shoulders for the Falcon Arrow. She hooks both legs for the pin. One...two...t—Hendrix grabs Ivelisse by the hair and slings her across the ring.

She tries to capitalize on Alexa, but the blonde forearms her multiple times. She rebounds off the ropes for a hurricarana, but Taeler uses her power to drop Bliss with a buckle bomb. She then connects with a DDT to the mat for the pin attempt. One...two...thr—Alexa kicks out. Hendrix has the blonde up on her shoulders vertically, but Bliss slips out of the hold. She shoves Taeler into the corner and tries for the roll-up. One...two...t—Velez is back with a super kick to Alexa. She sends Taeler out of the ring before setting Bliss up for the Desert Eagle to get the pin. One...two...three! Ivelisse gets her first victory in months, putting herself on the scoreboard once again.

Requiem On Water

Pillman stands in the ring with a mic in hand and bandages wrapped around his torso. Stitches lined a small fraction of his forehead where his head connected with the table last week. The fans were all chanting for him, but it didn’t lift his spirits. The man took a deep breath and looked over the crowd with a grim expression. “Moonstruck didn’t quite go according to plan. I had every intention on showing one of the top dogs in PCW that I was better than her by miles, despite my lack of experience...and as she said, my lack of experience is what became my downfall. I let my ego do all the talking and forgot that I needed the skill to back me up.”

“Allysin proved she was the better fighter last week...but I know can still be one of the best that PCW has ever seen walk through those doors. If anything, all Allysin did was push me to do better in this company. My streak is over, but my drive is greater than it has ever been before, so I’m putting this challenge out here right now: If there’s any man or woman in the back who’s willing to take on the new Brian Pillman—I’m right here and I’m waiting for ya next week.”

Phil Jackal vs Adam Cole vs Jon Moxley vs Tyler Breeze

m4.png

Adam tries to play along with the crowd with his signature catchphrase, but Mosley immediately tosses him into the corner. Adam collides with the post and drops to the outside as the three men circle the ring. Breeze goes for Jackal first with a clothesline, but Phil ducks and gets the backbreaker across the knee. He follows up with a double footstomp to the chest. He quickly goes for the huracarrana to Mox and now it’s Jackal on fire as Jon is tossed into the corner. He gets the monkey flip and sends Moxley back into the center of the ring for a running knee to the back of the head. Phil quickly hooks the leg. One..tw—Tyler breaks it up.

He slings Jackal to his feet and gets the snapmare before connecting a boot to the chest. Tyler quickly follows up with a standing moonsault for the pin. Jackal kicks out at one. Tyler has him up for the snap suplex into the ropes and proceeds to shove Jackal out of the ring. Moxley gets behind Breeze for a suplex, but Tyler elbows his way out and gets behind Jon for the hangman neckbreaker. Tyler kips up and sees Cole standing to his feet. He tries for the suicide dive, but Adam immediately gets the forearm to cut him off. Cole climbs the apron as Tyler hangs on the middle rope and uses it for a pedigree on the apron. Breeze slumps to the floor and Cole is back in the match.

He has Mox up by the arm and whips him into the corner. Adam drives a knee into the gut and sets Moxley up in the corner. Jon fights back and the two battle on top until Phil is on the apron. He gets the high kick to the back of Jon’s head before spring boarding on the ropes to take down Adam with the double knees. Moxley is still up high as Jackal tries to pin Cole. One...two...t—Moxley leaps off with an elbow drop to Phil’s chest to break it up. He was sending caution to the wind as he drove first after fist into Jackal’s face. Moxley has him up and slings him into the ropes for devastating clothesline. Moxley hooks the leg for a two count.

Adam is back in the game tries to capitalize with the Florida Key whole Jon is still on the mat. Moxley ducks and grabs the leg before dragging Adam into a wheelbarrow suplex. As Cole rolls to the apron, Breeze is up high and leaps off with the footstomp, but Moxley rolls out the way. He tries to lock Tyler into the DDT, but Breeze reverses and guts the gut. He follows up with a Code Red for the pin. One...two...th—Jackal gets the dropkick to Breeze. Adam slips back into the ring and both men capitalize with a suplex to Breeze on the ropes. Tyler drops out of the ring as Cole quickly turns on Jackal with a forearm to the face. He has Phil on his shoulders for backbreaker drop to the knee. Adam waits for him to stand, but Moxley is behind him with a half-Nelson suplex toss. Cole flies and Jackal uses the distraction for the superkick to Moxley. Phil hooks the leg. One...two...three! Jackal makes a powerful return with three more points under his belt.
Allysin Kay vs Frankie Valentine

m5.png

Kay and Frankie lock up in the center of the ring, but Allysin gets behind Frankie for suplex. Valentine fights back and stays grounded before getting that arm drag to flip Kay over. She tries to follow up with the dropkick, but Kay rolls out the way in time. She looks for the Big D early on, but Frankie blocks it and gets the hurricarana...or so she thought. Kay holds her up and slams her with a powerbomb for the first pun attempt. One...two..—Valentine stays in it. Natalya cheers her on at ringside as Allysin drags Frankie to her feet.

She has Frankie on her shoulders, but Valentine elbows her way out and kicks the back of the knee. Frankie quickly plants Kay with the neck twist and rolls her over for a one count. She stands Allysin up and tries to whip her into the ropes, but Kay reverses. Frankie rebounds with a slide between the legs and gets the jumping neckbreaker from behind. As Allysin tries to stand, Frankie boots the side of the face for another pin. One...two...th—Kay kicks out. Valentine gets the crowd to cheer her on as she starts a slow clap. She starts to climb the corner and Natalya warns her against it. Sure enough, Kay was up fast enough to cut Frankie off with a boot to the leg.

She tries to lift Valentine with the suplex, but Natalya holds onto her leg. The referee sees it and starts to argue with Natalya. Frankie shoves Kay down to the mat, but is distracted by Natalya’s interference. Allysin wastes no time dragging Frankie off the top to the mat on her back. She then yanks Frankie up for a side slam into the pin. One...two...th—Valentine kicks out. She tries to create space, but Allysin has her up again. Valentine headbutts her and looks to rebound with a big boot, but Allysin grabs the leg and reversed into a leg-lock. Frankie starts dragging herself to the ropes, but Kay squeezes down on the leg.

Frankie is just inches away and Natalya pulls her out of the ring. The referee finally calls this match off as Frankie looks to Natalya with confusion. The two start to argue, but it was interrupted as Kay rushes Natalya with a shoulder block. Natalya backs into the barricade hard and Kay lays in punch after punch. Natalya doesn’t hesitate to fight back and Frankie tries to break them up with no success. Natalya shoves her off just before rocking Kay with a fist to the jaw. She then drops Allysin with a discus clothesline before dusting herself off. She glares at Frankie. “I was trying to help you!”
“I didn’t need it not want it! You cost me an additional point!” Natalya scoffs and walks away from the scene she caused, leaving Frankie to check on Kay.

Flightless Bird, American Mouth

m6.png

In typical Smokeshow fashion, the ring was decorated lavishly to signify a celebration. This one being the fact she successfully retained her championship title against Spike Trivet at the Moonstruck event. Suddenly the lights went down and the familiar music filled the arena. The crowd would cheer before their champion even stepped through the curtain. Once Bordeaux emerged the cheering somehow got louder. She was adorned in an outfit that was very Scarlett-esque. It was a black bodysuit with cleavage showing. Gold and Swarovski crystals covering it. An outfit befitting the face of the company.

Once she was inside the ring, the gripped the microphone in one hand while holding her championship with the other. "Give it up for your champ, PCW!" She exclaimed into the mic, the crowd then exploding in cheers once more. "Now, anyone with more than two functional brain cells knew that we'd be having this little moment here tonight. There was absolutely nothing going to stop me from defeating that parasite." Mild boos rang out, the people knowing she was referring to Trivet. "Trust me, it was a battle and I've got marks to prove it. You give a desperate man means to an end and he'll do everything to try and force his hand. However--" she paused, using the hand that held the title to raise it up off of her shoulder and high in the air. "--desperate men are a creature I've learned to overcome over the course of my life and here I stand, still your Rise of Phoenix Champion." Another chorus of cheers erupted within the arena.

"Now, enough about the past huh? Let us shift our gaze to the future." Scarlett spoke through tinted lips, a smile appearing upon them now. The crowd showered her in love and appreciation. "I'm ready to defend this title again, and again, and again, because I know that I've got the goods. I know that I can defeat each and every member of this roster--friend or foe. I won't shy away from a fight, you've all seen it. So, that being said, whoever thinks they can hang with Scarlett Bordeaux? They can get made into my bitch like the rest."

After that emphatic statement, she dropped the microphone and ascended the ropes to hoist the title above her head once more. Confidence was never something Bordeaux lacked, but with the throne, the championship and the people behind her? She reached a whole new level of confidence.

Deathmatch
Future Phoenix Championship Match
Sami Callihan vs Melissa Santos

m7.png

The bell rings, but neither competitor moves. Melissa stares down her boyfriend with some uneasiness. A part of her wanted to turn and run, to avoid another fight with the only person she loves...but the way he glared made it known that she had to stand her ground. If she had any hope of washing away this animosity, she needed to beat him at his own game. For Sami; however, he just wanted to see her dead. He replays his death over and over again in his mind, seeing Melissa do nothing as he bled on the mat. Crying. All she could do is fucking cry. He’ll give her something to cry about this time around.

Sami sprints her direction and Santos backs into the corner. Callihan looks for a shoulder tackle, but Melissa leaps up to force his shoulder into the turnbuckle. She quickly hops onto the back and gets the Code Red out of the corner for the pin. One...—Sami powers out. Santos quickly gets the step-up enzuigiri to stun him before trying for the corner sliced bread. Callihan uses his power to stop her midair and shoves the woman to the floor on the outside. Santos is grounded as Callihan slowly rolls out of the ring, somewhat stalking Melissa as she tries to stand. He looks under the ring and pulls out a barbwire bat. He took a swing at her back and the wire cuts into the skin.

Santos drops back to her knees as she hollers in pain. Sami grins as he digs the wire even more into her back. Blood drips down her back in thin lines as she grits her teeth in pain. Sami yanks her up by the hair and slings her into the barricade. He tries for another swing, but Melissa ducks and gets the kick to the gut. She then connects with a dropkick to send Sami’s back into the ring post. While he’s stunned, Melissa gets a chain from under the ring and ties his neck against the post before pulling on it. Callihan starts to choke violently as Santos showed no remorse or hesitation. His face was beginning to turn a shade of red as he panicked. It seemed as if Santos would never let go, but she finally released him before he could pass out.

She uses the same chain to whip against his torso, then his thigh. Callihan howls in pain, trying to create some distance as she continues to swing the chain into his back. Callihan eventually grabs the other end and pulls Melissa into him before trying to lift her, but Santos forearms the face and gets to the apron for a hurricarana. Sami is down and she searches under the ring again for a shiny toy. Melissa pulls out a light tube. The woman lets out a hellish roar as she swings the tub onto his back. It shatters in her hands and Sami grits his teeth as a stinging sensation shoots up his spine.

He staggers to her feet as Santos tries for an inverted DDT from behind. Sami stops her as she got on his shoulder and drops her face onto the apron hard. Melissa drops to the floor and he stomps her chest multiple times. Callihan steps on her as he walks by, looking under the ring for more weapons. He finally retrieved a staple gun and makes his way back to Melissa. She was on her hands and knees and Sami purposely got behind her, thrusting his hips a bit to further try to humiliate the brunette before stapling her back. Melissa lets out a strained scream through gritted teeth. He staples the back of her shoulder next, then her arm and thigh. Sami starts to laugh as he drags her up by the hair, slamming her back onto the apron with a scoopslam. She hangs over the edge as Callihan finds a table slides it into the ring. He then tosses in multiple chairs and a brown bag into the ring.

He sets up the table and opens the bag to poor thumbtacks onto the surface near the corner. He then has her up and slams her back into the corner before taking the chair and wedging her in the corner. He proceeds to kick Melissa in the face and chest multiple times until she’s barely conscious before following up with a running boot to the face. He removes the chair and Santos drops to the mat. Callihan chuckles to himself, confidently taking a seat in said chair as he watched Melissa truly to drag herself to him. He laughs and pushes her back down to the mat, but she held onto a chain hanging from his tights. Santos drags herself to her knees and stares him down with a look he never seen from her before. She looked like she just crawled out of hell and was ready to drag him down with her.

Santos lets out a scream and forearms him in the chair multiple times before booting him out of it. Callihan stands and she gets the dropkick to send him into the corner. She takes the chair and swings it multiple times. While he’s stunned, she sets it up and uses the corner for a tornado DDT onto the seat of the chair. Callihan is busted open and blood pours down his face. She drags him to his feet, but a rush of adrenaline has him force her back into the corner near the table. He drives multiple fists into the abdomen before setting her up high. Callihan gets behind her and tries to set up the packaged piledriver, but Melissa fights back with every fiber of her being. She manages to take control and counters with a huracarrana to send him down onto the table and tacks. It shatters to pieces and the tacks rip through his vest to cut his back. Melissa crawls into the pin, hooking both legs.

One....two....three! Melissa has done it! Melissa defeats Sami Callihan for the Future Phoenix Championship! The entire arena is stunned, but they cheer her on as she’s helped to her feet by the referee and given the championship. Callihan is barely conscious as the brunette stares down at the title in disbelief. She holds it up high in the air, tears starting to fall down her face. Sami finally sits up slowly, getting to his feet. He can barely stand and Santos drops her title, running to help him. As she lets him lean on her, he looks down at her in confusion. “...all that and you’d still consider me worthy of your help.”
“Always. That’s how love works...” He lets out a laugh and coughs up a bit of blood.
“You’re out of your fucking mind.”
“I know,” she says with a shrug. “You like it, though.”
“...congrats, Melissa. You earned it.”
They stared into each other’s eyes for a few moments before Santos finally kisses her boyfriend without hesitation and shockingly enough, he embraces her completely.

Vipress returns to the underground temple to find Priscilla standing within the circle. Blood trickled down her arms and as Vipress drew closer, she noticed a knife in Priscilla’s hand. The witch raised a brow, clearing her throat to catch the succubus’s attention. Kelly slowly turned around. Her arms were covered in tiny slashes from the blade, the blood dripping to the floor within the circle. Her eyes were puffy and red, but as soon as her eyes laid on Vipress, she gripped the knife even tighter. Kelly held it up towards the witch. “Stay back.”

“Oh, I plan to. I don’t know what you think you are doing, but you need to leave promptly. I have things to do.” Vipress walks past the circle and approaches a counter filled with different mixtures of powders and liquids. She mumbled to herself as she searched for something.
“I don’t care about what you need,” Priscilla says. “Right now, I need Him to help me get my title back.”
“He’s not going to show up just because you sacrifice a few drops of blood and you know that...so what are you really after?”
“I just...I just want...I—“ Priscilla trembles the knife falling from her hands as she tries to maintain composure. “Get should of yourself, Priscilla! I’d think you were human by the way you’re acting. It’s just a stupid belt. There are more important things to worry about!”

“Like what?! Corvus?” Kelly shouted. “He completely abandoned you and now you’re just as lost as I am.”
“He hasn’t abandoned me. I think he’s confused. That damn Aries...he’s been talking to him, telling Corvus lies and filling his head with wishful thinking. Corvus thinks if he has control of the elixir, he won’t need me and be under my control...but he doesn’t know what he is doing. If he takes too much at once...” Vipress turned from Priscilla and found a few ingredients she needed.
“Get out of the circle, Priscilla. I need it.”
“No, I need it more! I need Him to show up and help me exact revenge against that red-headed bitch!”
“You need to let that go. Your war with Taeler became a distraction and it cost this entire faction gold...and now Pavor, Spike, Zara, and Corvus have scattered.”

“You’re blaming me?! Maybe you’d poor leadership is why this faction is broken.” Kelly reached down to pick up the knife again.
“I’m not leaving.” Vipress sighs heavily, annoyed with Kelly’s behaviour.
“Very well.”

She puts the ingredients back in order to briskly approach the circle. Kelly is ready to swing the knife and slashes the air as Vipress tries to approach her. In one instance, Vipress was in front of he, in the next? She was behind Kelly and grabs the wrist. She squeezes and twists it until Kelly drops the knife as she screams in agony. Vipress then drags the woman of the circle and kicks her down to the floor.

“You used to be stronger, better than this. Then you had the audacity to roll around in the sheets with some mortal, have his disgusting children, and now you’re this. Now you’re so human that you’ve lost the bloodlust, the desire to kill. If I wanted you dead right now, you would be, but I spared for one reason only...”

Vipress takes the knife and cuts some of Kelly’s hair off before returning to the counter. “Demonic DNA. This will work perfectly for my next concoction.” Vipress hums softly to herself as Kelly remains on the floor, unsure of what to do. She slams her fist on the stone floor before slowly pulling herself together and rising to her feet. Vipress was right. She had gone soft. She wiped the blood dripping from her arms. She knew that wouldn’t call Him to her.

This was nothing short of self-mutilation, punishment for failure. It’s what He would’ve done Himself if He actually gave a damn about her still. She has fallen so far in the hierarchy that He no longer cared. Priscilla needed to rise again, to reclaim power. “Vipress...” the witch pauses and turns her head.

“Is there anything you can give me to make me stronger, too?” The witch gives her a wide grin and nods.
“Of course, beautiful. Welcome back to the Fourth Circle.”
