Who can take the online LTC class?
Anyone can take the online license to carry class, but eligibility requirements must be met to be able to get a Texas License to Carry from the state. If you can legally own a handgun and are 21 years of age, you may be able to get your LTC. Check here for eligibility requirements. The online LTC class can be taken as early as age 19 . The certificate received is good for 2 years. This means that you can take the online class before 21, you just cannot submit your application to Texas DPS until your 21st birthday. 
The only requirement to take the online LTC class is to have a Texas Drivers License or Identification card or a DL/ID from any other state in the United States. This information is needed for the LTC-101 certificate of completion, which is issued for the successful completion of the class.
