How to Socialize Successfully Tips by Kristi Dunn

Some people are naturally outgoing and get along with everybody. We usually call these people extroverts and they are usually the life of the party. The rest of us, however, have to put a little more effort into socializing because it may not come naturally to us and that's what I would like to talk about in this article today.

Not everybody feels comfortable while socializing, but everybody can... it just takes a little practice. Here are some tips that you can use to help you out in this area.

First you should always be positive. If you think you're gonna have a bad time at a party, you will.

Start out by making eye contact. Don't worry about what you're going to say and don't even think about it. Why not? Because when most people think about something they look away or they look down while they think. Instead you should focus on listening. When somebody's talking to you be sure to make eye contact with them because it will make the person talking be more enthusiastic.

The next thing you need to do is learn how to discuss just about anything. Most people do this by staying informed from reading a daily newspaper because many times people simply talk about what's going on in the world.

When talking to somebody, don't drag out stories and also don't use clichés or technical jargon that people may not understand because this will turn you into a boring person. Instead try to focus on the other people around you by asking questions about them to get them talking.

If these things don't work then you may need to build up your practice. I suggest starting your own small dinner parties with just a few people who you are comfortable with to practice your socializing skills in a safe environment. Over time you can grow the size of the dinner parties you hold to invite more and more people both expanding your social circle and improving your socializing skills.

A great time to hold dinner parties is Sunday afternoon or Sunday evening because many people don't schedule parties during those times and everybody is always free. Think about it, when was the last time you did anything on a Sunday evening? These parties don't have to be long, in fact they should be short especially to begin with. Set aside an hour or two once a week or every other week for this sort of thing.

So there you have several tips and tricks that just about anybody can use to help socialize successfully. With these tips you should be the life of the party in no time flat...or at least not a hopeless bore! Kristi Dunn is best socializing skills.
