General information about Khorramabad
Ethnicity and language: In general, the people of Khordam Abad are part of the people of Feili, and the dialect of the people of this city is Lori Khorram Abad. Fili means the residents of Valian Fili region, which includes a group of Ler and Kurdish people. This group of people lives in western Iran and southwestern Iraqi Kurdistan. The people of Khorramabad are Ler and Lak, and this city is the largest Lernian city in Iran. In addition to Lori Khorramabadi, part of the people of this region also speak Laki, Borujerdi and Lori Bakhtiari dialects. 

Population: According to the last general census in 2015, the fixed population of Khorramabad city is 506,471 people and this population lives in three urban areas and 37 neighborhoods. Therefore, Khorram Abad is known as the largest city of Iran. 

Religion and Religion: Most of the people of Khorramabad are Muslim and Twelve Imam Shia. After the Muslim majority, Jews constitute the largest religious minority population in Khorramabad. 

Economy: Unfortunately, the economic and employment situation in Khorramabad is not very good and the unemployment rate in this city and Lorestan province is very high. In addition to these, agriculture, animal husbandry and horticulture form another part of the economy of this city. Unfortunately, in recent years, many factories and industries were closed in this city due to financial problems, sanctions and unqualified privatizations. 

 Adopted sister cities: The cities of Yamagata (Japan) and Afion Karahesar (Turkey) have signed a sisterhood agreement with the city of Khorramabad.
