In the 27th minute, Hwang Hee-chan sparkled. He broke down Newcastle's left flank before laying the ball off to Cunha on the right. But his shot was inaccurate.

It looked like the keeper was going to make the save, but the ball slipped through his hands and into the back of the net. The replay camera showed Hwang Hee-chan, who provided the assist.

In the 26th minute of the second half, Hwang scored the equalizer. After receiving a deflected pass from Gomes, Hwang deceived his man and fired a bullet from the right side of the box for his sixth goal of the league. It was the most goals by an individual in an EPL season and Hwang's sixth consecutive home goal.

Hwang Hee-chan took the weight off his shoulders by converting the penalty kick to equalize.

After the game, Hwang told 'BBC', "I was sad to concede the penalty. After the first half, everyone told me, 'You can do it, keep going.' They trusted me, and I'm happy I was able to score a goal (in the second half) and help the team," he said.

"It's very difficult to talk about penalty decisions after the game is over," he said, adding, "I was trying to clear the ball and I saw someone blocking it. It stopped after that, and I thought the other player touched me. I don't think it was a penalty, but Wilson scored. (After that) all I could do was try to score a goal to help the team."

Finally, Hwang said, "I want to thank my teammates and the fans."

According to the BBC, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson (44, retired) was also of the opinion that there was "no contact (when Hwang conceded the penalty)" and that there was "no malice, no intent".
