'Til death do us part.'

Those words still sent butterflies into her stomach, even in the darkness of the woods, and a smile pulled at her lips as she looked up at Eddie. He was clearly on edge, but Demona had never felt more at home. She was with Eddie, back in Hawkins, going to visit his mother, and everything was just the way it should have been. She didn't care that he was a vampire, at least at the moment. At his core, he was still Eddie, and the way he was half-shuddering at the woods despite being a literal creature of the night now was all the proof he needed for that. He was even jumping at something she couldn't hear, and giving his hand a reassuring squeeze as it slips into hers, she pulled him forward a little, knowing very well he could easily fight against her if he really wanted to. Even without his supernatural strength, he had always been stronger than her simply due to her small size.

Flashlight in hand, Demona led the way. She was more comfortable, and it had been her idea, so it only made sense. The moon was shining through the trees, too, and in her eyes, the way the light was hitting the dirt path was similar to the way a child's nightlight illuminated their bedroom. It was just another comfort she found in the night, and as she made sure to avoid the twigs that had fallen on the path, she glanced back at Eddie ever few moments to make sure he wasn't ready to drag her back to the fence.

It didn't take the two long to reach the area in which his mother's stone was standing. By now, it was more overgrown than she had expected, but she knew the shape of that angel on top better than Eddie likely expected. There had been several nights when she had snuck into the graveyard without Eddie to either read next to Elizabeth's grave or ask her for advice (of course, she never answered). She had never met the woman, no, but she felt as though she knew her nonetheless, and pausing a few feet away, she glanced over at Eddie, then back to the grave.

"Hey, Mrs. Munson. Long time no see."
